CHAPTER 3

Francis and Cheska came in hand in hand. Different from her confident demeanor in front of Cesar, Francis walking behind her makes her tense all over. She held her breath and waited.

Okay, Selina would admit that she's actually secretly afraid of her brother-in-law. Although Francis wasn't a harsh person but perhaps due to his natural aura, an occasional glance from him can be quite intimidating.

Francis and Cheska sat down across from her. Thinking of the nude photo showing her secret lascivious side that she wrongly sent to her brother-in-law, Selina couldn't help but feel uneasy.

Luckily, Francis didn't look at her specifically. He's not even paying attention to her. As always, he didn't strain away his eyes from her sister. But still, it didn't lessen her unease. Feeling parch from the stress, she took the glass of juice and drank it all in a big gulp.

But Cesar's sudden exclamation startled her. "That glass was mine!"

Selina coughed, and Francis finally glanced over at her.

Selina's face turned red from Francis's intense look. It might just be for a second, but Selina is very sure that Francis had seen her nude photo. Those eyes didn't have the same indifference with them. His eyes were cold as usual, but hidden in its depths were something that made her blush.

It's intense. Dark. And mysterious.

She needed to do something fast. She snatches the tissue in Cesar's hand when he's about to help her wipe the mess she made. Her eyes were out of focus, but her mind was busy finding a way to handle the mistake she had made. If she was misunderstood as a loose woman who would seduced even her brother-in-law, she would never be able to hold her head up in front of her sister and Francis.

Knowing that the brothers would stay until the evening, after breakfast, Selina left her boyfriend behind to avoid Francis and made up an excuse to go back to her room.

Selina busily planned her next move. Surprisingly, she couldn't decide on what to do next. Francis is a very cold man. And Selina is actually a little bit scared of him. But for her own future, she needed to delete that photo.

So how to do it.

Scenarios kept on popping on her head, but all of it was impossible to enact. She's still in the middle of cemtemplatiom, when she realized that it's almost dinner time. So she went downstairs again.

Stepping down the stairs, she inhaled deeply and finally adjusted her mentality. At this moment, Cesar and Francis were talking in the living room.

Both were almost the same height. And although Francis was just five older. With his aura and intimidating temperament, he appeared older than Cesar, who looked childish in comparison.

Selina and Cesar had one thing in common. They were not born to their father's legitimate wives. The difference was that when Cesar was born, his mother had already become the main wife of the Lauder's family, so he was immediately accepted by the family from birth. While Selina spent several years as an illegitimate child before being accepted by the Forbes' family.

All things considered, Aunt Linda Forbes, the lawful wife of her father, was relatively kind with her. After all, there's no woman who would willingly share her husband with a third party and then live under the same roof with his illegitimate children. Aunt Linda's treatment of her was indeed benevolent. That's why she could never do something like sabotaging her sister's relationship.
