The Martial Arts Prodigy

Chapter 6

While in the shower room, Danyelle washes herself while thinking about the party tonight. As the water kisses her body, she feels her hand glow with energy as the water hits her tattoo.

"Danyelle... Danyelle... do you hear me?" Danyelle looks around in the shower room, wondering who was speaking to her. However, she doesn't see anyone near her and she continues her shower. As Danyelle finishes her shower, she then hears a ringing in her ear that sounds like nails on a chalkboard. As she holds her head, her tattoo begins to glow with great intensity. She suddenly sees a ball of green energy in front of her, hovering above the ground. Danyelle's eyes widen upon the sight of this mysterious entity that's in front of her.

"What in the blue hell?" Danyelle wonders. The green ball of energy then hovers toward Danyelle, looking her in the eyes. As her tattoo shines brighter, Danyelle can feel her body grow with energy.

"My dear dragon child, you have the key to protect all from danger. Soon, you will have to fulfill your destiny. Danyelle, the dragon cries out to be unleashed. When the time comes, you will cause a fire that will burn the darkness." Danyelle wonders what that means, looking at her tattoo glow brighter.

The ball of energy disappears, leaving no trace or trail behind. Danyelle can't help but be unsettled by this mysterious force. After turning off the shower, Danyelle grabs a towel and she wraps it around her body. Meanwhile, Laura and Vanessa have their attires on for the party and they are waiting on Danyelle to finish getting ready.

Knock, knock...

"Who is that?" Laura goes to the front door and she opens it to see Draca standing in front of her, dressed in black daisy dukes with a red shirt and all white shoes.

"Hey guys, just coming by to see how everything is going." Draca says with a grin on her face.

"It's all good, so I take it you are attending the party too?" Laura says, dressed in black jeans and a black leopard print shirt.

"Yeah, figured I'd have some fun while I am here. So where is this Danyelle person? I would love to meet her." Draca grins.

"Oh, she is still getting ready. I think she will be out at any minute." Vanessa says, dressed in a gothic attire, with leather pants and a leather jacket.

"All right. This is a beautiful home! I am already jealous of you guys!" Draca looks at the many pictures of legendary warriors from the past. Danyelle then comes down in the sundress that Laura gave her and the others are amazed at her appearance.

"Oh my baby Jesus! You look amazing Dani!" Laura compliments, her jaw dropping upon seeing Danyelle.

"Who's the hot blonde?" Danyelle asks Laura.

"Oh, this is Draca Swanson, Draca this is Danyelle Faust, but you can call het Dani." Draca shakes Danyelle's hand and she feels warm energy coming from it.

"I have heard of your career in Bellator, 23 wins and no losses. I have been impressed with you ever since your first victory." Danyelle compliments.

"Well I heard about you around here, I met your friends earlier, they're pretty cool." Danyelle smiles at Draca, indicating that she accepts her as a friend.

"Well guys, we got a party to attend. Time to cut loose and live a little!" shouts Vanessa. The students then head for the local school bar, where the party is taking place. While walking to the bar, Draca walks up to Danyelle, hoping to learn more about her.

"So, you know the fabled Dragon Style?" she asks her.

"Yeah, I've been training ever since I was little. Turns out, I was birthed to parents who were freedom fighters of the Jade Dragon Society and I am the last child of the dragon." as Danyelle explains this to Draca, she can see Draca's jaw drop to the floor in surprise.

"That sounds awesome, you must have a very special gift." Draca says with a smile. Danyelle then chuckles, thinking that she maybe right.

"Well guys, we got a party to go to. Let's roll out!" Laura exclaims with excitement. The students then each travel to the ballroom building, where the party is taking place. Upon arriving at the venue, the students are amazed at the design of the ballroom.

"This is not a ballroom, it's a goddamn club!" Vanessa exclaims, looking at the DJ turntable booth. As the DJ plays music, the lights behind him flash different colors.

"Hey Dani, lets get a table!" Laura suggests. Danyelle nods in acceptance and they find a table near the bar. Meanwhile Vanessa gets on the dance floor with the rest of the students.

"Hey, I knew I'd find you around here!" says Aaron, who walks up to a dancing Vanessa.

"Hello Aaron, I'd figured I would see you here." Vanessa responds to him, while performing the splits.

"If you are looking for Danyelle, she is over by the bar with La-La." Aaron smiles at Vanessa and he kneels down towards her slowly.

"I actually came here to see you, I was wondering if you would like for me to take you to school on this dance floor." smiles Aaron.

"Oh really? Well, I don't think you can handle this, let's see what you got!" Vanessa and Aaron begin to dance with each other, having fun with each others company.

"Vanessa sure knows how to attract the men of this school." Danyelle says while watching Vanessa and Aaron dance.

"Who knew a girl like that can have great footwork? Guess that's the benefit of Ninjitsu." Laura grabs a soda drink from the bar and she takes a sip. Danyelle watches her tattoo glow green as she sees Master Asia approach her and Laura.

"Nice party huh? I guess you don't dance Danyelle?" Asia wonders. Danyelle then turns around in her chair and she faces Asia.

"Well, I only dance when the right song comes on. It's better to dance to your own tune than follow what everyone else is doing." says Danyelle. Asia then pulls up a chair and she sits next to Danyelle and Laura.

"You are very wise for your age. When did you develop such a strong mind?" Asia asks Danyelle.

"Through meditation and self control. But I was born optimistic, I just have faith in people." upon hearing Danyelle's words, Asia smiles with amazement.

"Faith is a great thing for any warrior, if you don't have faith in yourself, you will end up defeating yourself." Upon hearing Asia's statement, Laura nods in agreement and she takes another sip of her soda drink. Laura then gets up from her chair and she walks towards Asia.

"Master Asia, I don't believe we met. My name is Laura Christmas, but you can call me La-La." Laura extends her hand out to Asia, hoping to receive a handshake. Asia shakes Laura's hand as a sign of respect.

"I know who you are, you are the master of the Panther Style Martial Arts. Your style is very unique as it focuses on speed and strength and precision." Asia comments.

"Thank you, I heard only little about the Dragon Style, there are so many secrets behind it." Laura says to Asia, making Danyelle think to herself. Suddenly, the lights go out in the ballroom and Carly appears from behind the DJ turntable booth in a flash of bright pink and white lights, dressed in all white.

"All right losers, I have an announcement to make. It seems to me that there are a few of you who are martial arts experts. Well, I bet all of you are good, but nowhere near my level." Vanessa and Aaron look on in annoyance watching Carly flaunt her arrogance over everyone.

"Someone needs to knock this cocky b***h down a peg or two, teach her some humility." Vanessa says with her arms folded.

"So, why don't you go and teach her?" Aaron teasingly asks. Vanessa then rolls her eyes, chuckling at Aaron's bravado.

"So, I have here a male fighter who is a Power Boxer and he wants to fight someone right here, right now!" Carly pulls out a stack of money from her pocket.

"Now I have 5000 dollars here in my hands, 5000 dollars here to the person who can knock this guy out in under 5 minuets. So who wants to step up?" as everyone looks around wondering who will step up, Danyelle walks up to the front of the ballroom.

"You hardly look dressed to fight, we don't want to stain your pretty little dress." Danyelle looks at Carly with a blank stare, unphased by her teasing. The power boxer stands in front of Danyelle, getting into a southpaw stance.

Danyelle stands firmly and calm, watching the power boxer smile with arrogance. She can feel a rush of energy go through her. It is not fear that grips her, only a heightened sense of things. The flashing lights bouncing off of her skin, the air coming from the fan on the ceiling. The steady breathing of the others, waiting in anticipation. She takes it all in.

"Ready... FIGHT!" The power boxer tries to punch Danyelle, but she dodges and hits him with a right cross so powerful that it knocks him unconscious. The other students become hysterical over what they just witnessed.

"What in the flying f**k!? She took him out with one punch!" Aaron shouts in disbelief.

"Dani... Holy s**t!" says a shocked Vanessa. Laura and Asia sit near the bar in dead silence over what just happened.

"That didn't just happen did it? He was twice her size and she destroyed him like it was nothing!" Asia smiles and pats Laura on the shoulder.

"She is unique after all, be glad she's your friend." Asia then gets up from her chair and she walks away. Laura looks to her right and she sees the same guy from the orientation talking on his phone.

"What's with that guy?" Laura wonders to herself. Meanwhile, Carly is still in shock from Danyelle's one hit knockout. She sees Danyelle walk up to her, waiting for her to give her the money.

"You have something for me?" Danyelle asks. Carly gives her the money, while giving her a dagger piercing stare. Carly walks away, leaving the ballroom in disgust. Danyelle quickly leaves the ballroom and she heads back to the apartment complex. Back at the apartment, Danyelle sits in deep meditation. She hears the footsteps of Laura and a few others coming in.

"There you are, we were looking for you!" says Vanessa. Danyelle opens her eyes to see the others standing over her.

"Sorry guys, I needed to get out of there. It got a little crazy real fast." Draca and the others sit down next to her, forming a circle.

"What's this?" Danyelle asks.

"We want to know more about you, well I think we should tell each other about ourselves." Aaron suggests.

"Why? You saw what I can do. What else is there to know?" Danyelle wonders as the others stare at her.

"What you did there, was amazing! No one has ever won a fight that fast, you also won 5000 dollars from Carly Williams, why did you step up?" Aaron asks.

"I just wanted to show Carla what happens when you talk a big game and don't back up s**t you claim to be spewing." Danyelle smiles and she begins to split the money with everyone.

"What's this for?" asks Johnny.

"It's for all of you guys, you guys are now my friends. What's mine is now yours." Danyelle then bows her head in respect to the other students.

"Thanks Dani, I always knew you were such a cool girl!" Laura compliments.

"So I guess we are having share time, who wants to go first?" Danyelle asks, wondering who wants to share.

"I guess I'll go, since I am the newest one in this group..." Johnny says.

"Your name is Johnny Orion, right?" Aaron asks.

"Yeah, you have probably seen me around the campus a few times. I'm the guy staying next door to Carly." everyone then groans in agitation.

"Wow, I am saddened for you, what must that be like?" Laura asks.

"She's mostly quiet, honestly I think that's a good thing. But as much as I would love to roast the s**t out of Ms. Williams, I want to tell you guys about myself." Danyelle and the others then nod their heads in agreement.

"Okay, hold on to your butts, because this is a doozy..." says Johnny.
