Chapter 15:
At sea, distance is hard to judge. The launch had been underway for over an hour, Alexei headed away from the Germans at best possible speed, but Helena could tell little difference in the size of the craft that pursued them. The sun set some time ago, now the small craft could lose them in the night.
“We have a problem.” Alexei looked over at Helena. “If they are half the seamen I would expect them to be, they will use the fairy fire on the water to follow us. We are outdistancing them, but there are only so many places we can go. With no way to know where the Kampfhund and the Legend are, we will need to return to that island eventually.”
