CHAPTER ONE long ago king Adebayo was the king of Ogun kingdom an under him were other kings and kingdoms. king Adebayo was blessed by the gods with a child, a beautiful and kind-hearted princesses but unfortunately when the king fell ill every one became worried " who will ascend the throne" they wondered. The king's chief were worried "a woman can't rule us "they say in disagreement with the situation and the king in his sick bed made his last wish "my daughter the princess shall ascend the throne after me"he declared and shortly he died. the chiefs conspired against the king to make his immediate younger brother Adebusuyi the king of Ogun kingdom. but the princess remain the last obstacles to that so they deceived the princess by taking her down the sea that led to the other kingdoms. "we are taking you to see the royal traditional seer to look into your ascending of the throne" one of the chief Olajuwon said mischievously with a grin on his face. the princess looked down the canoe observing the current of the sea when their canoe shook violently. "are you okay my princess"the chief asked and princess Eniola nods her head . Mainwhile Adebusuyi who hasn't said a word stood on his feet "uncle" the princess called "is anything wrong?" Adebusuyi gave a wicked smile "you should be scared" he declared as the two chief went on their feet.Chief Olajuwon gave Adebusuyi a dagger and the princess goes on her feet too. "what is going on?"she asked a little scared "I need to become the king at all cost" Adebusuyi smiles " and you need to die if I must become king" he glared at the chiefs and at once they grabbed the princess. " uncle please..don't do this" She cried " don't worry.....our gods will accept your soul wholeheartedly". Adebusuyi stabbed the princess countless times and she was thrown into the sea. two hundred years after. There was little civilisation at Ogun kingdom, and there lived a girl dark complexion, pretty,tall and smart her name is Ayomide.she became an orphan at the age of ten and was adopted by Mr Olubiyo out of pity and now Ayomide is nineteen years old. she wore her clothes at the first cockcrow, adjusted her clothes while looking at her self on the mirror "I have a lot of things to do today" she immediately walked out of the house walking down the street and making her way into a small shop filled with men immediately she entered the shop, Akande a tall muscular man who owned the shop lift the cup of local alcohol in his hand. " look" he alerted "Ayomide is here" Ayomide walked to him faking a smile "I came as you instructed although I had a lot of work to attend to" she gave a fixed gaze ignoring eye contact Akande laughed "I knew you will come besides if you don't how will you survive" he asked cunningly placing his left hand on her hair "a thief like you have to obey instruction" all the men laughed heartically as ayomide frown. " so what should I steal today" ayomide was putting a serious face as she asked this question making Akande to give a serious face too " come with me" he said as they walked in between the men that were either smoking or drinking alcohol ayomide followed him to a big table " what is this" she asked and shortly four men join them at the table " you see " Akande's voice came like a whisper " kemi and his boys have something I'll love you to get for me" Ayomide was in thought for a while putting her left hand on her lips "wait" she said "you mean kemi that agbero (thug), sorry I mean that wicked man or should I say a..... killer" her voice trembled as she said the last word when Akande's voice confirmed it " whatever you call him.... he is the one" he snapped his finger she smiled weirdly and asked "do you want me dead" "don't Be a fool" he stared of her "that's why I'm sending Olu Oba and Shoremi with you" he stared at the four men standing beside the table Ayomide sight looking around the room "so how much are we talking about here" "I will pay you 50 Kobo" he said when Ayomide raised her eyebrow unbelievably then she said "what? you are sending me to that wicked man and yet to think of paying me just 50 Kobo?" " do you even know what I want you to steal" his eyes scanned her eyes when he said "it's a book the book that contains our history the book of our ancestors" Ayomide repeated after his sentence then she broke her thoughts "the book of our ancestors"she frowned "whatever it is I don't care but we are talking about kemi" "fine I will make it 1 naira" akande said looking into her eyes Ayomide almost hissed "don't you realize you're sending me to a place that may cost my life so in order to do my work efficiently" she smiled "make it three naira "fine I will make it three Naira because I know you will bring it" Akande smiles mischievously and ayomide complimented "good" smiling broadly
