This is the first time in my life that I am grateful for a hot bath. I generally prefer fast, cold showers, but now, with the freezing cold in my bones, a hot bath is an unexpectedly sweet oasis in this deserted universe of madness. Even my hair hurts when I try, as carefully as I can to shampoo it. The water gets black fast as I clean the ash from my body. When I finally get up from the tub, I take a look around the room. This bathroom is bigger than my old bedroom. Small bottles of balsam are placed near the tub and in containers of all shapes and sizes, hydrating oils and lotion. I try each of them, assuming that's why they are there for, I finally settle on a creamy one with a slightly sweet smell to rub it all over my body.  It feels so good that I almost cry.
