Alpha Jones

1117 Words
Jane was running late. She was supposed to meet Bonnie in a coffee shop to give her the final answer concerning accepting the rogue alpha's proposal. She ran into Daniel again on the stairs. “Hello Daniel,” said Jane with a soft smile. Daniel was on a call but seeing Jane, he ended the call. “Good morning dear. I didn’t see you during breakfast.” “Oh, about that… I, uhm…” “I thought you were still mad with me over what happened last night.” “Well, uhm…uhm..." "You know what? What you did tells you you are not a gentleman. Gentlemen do ask ladies out and not force their way…” “My bad! I apologize. Maybe I should do it the right way. How about we hang out someday?” “That would be lovely, but I’m a busy girl.” Jane didn’t want to act desperate. She just wanted to act up and not look desperate. She can make it to a hang-out if she wants to, but she wanted to play some hard balls. “Come on Jane, you can make out time for me.” “You know what, I will think about it and let you know. Right now I am running late for a meeting.” “Of course, but please give me a reply as fast as possible,” Daniel grinned. He is a famous dude. Most girls got their eyes on him and want to be around him. He was on the phone with a girl and they were talking about hanging out. When Jane was gone, he placed another call to the same girl to finish up with their arrangements. COFFEE SHOP Jane had just got to the coffee shop. She could tell Bonnie wasn’t happy with her. She had been waiting for her for over two hours. Whenever Bonnie wishes to hang out in the neighborhood, she switches her appearance to that of a young lady. “You are late!” Bonnie frowns on seeing Jane. “I’m sorry.” “Gwen wishes to hear a positive response from you.” “What she asked is impossible. I can’t be with someone who killed my father. How do you think my mother will feel when she eventually finds out?” “She won’t find out. The police report about the death of your father is conclusive.” “Oh yeah! It’s conclusive, but you don’t care about my feelings.” “Jane, I do care about your feelings and that’s why I wanted to meet you here and not in the white witches’ cave.” “What are you talking about?” “Gwen might be too soft because she’s desperate to stop alpha Kyle who went rogue. However, I and some other witches have another plan.” Most of the white clan witches didn’t like the idea of Jane accepting the proposal of the rogue alpha without a fight. They have proposed another plan. “What plan are you talking about?” Jane’s face was filled with curiosity. As much as she didn’t want any of this, she still wants to know what Bonnie has to say. “We want you to accept his proposal. Get close to him, then eliminate him.” Jane cast a scornful gaze at Bonnie. To her it's easy, but she does not know what will be the outcome if Jane should go by this plan. “You want me to get close to the person I disgust? Bed him and eliminate him, huh?” The idea seems good if they find someone else to do that, but not Jane. She can’t stand the sight of alpha Kyle. All she wanted was to meet with him, to terminate him, and not to fake affections for him. “This will help you get your revenge and as well save us all, including yourself.” With the rogue alpha Kyle working with the dark witches to make the white witches mortal and other werewolves who have not pledged allegiance to the rogue alpha, Jane seems to have no choice. She can’t turn her back on her friends, the very people who saved her from the rogue alpha when he sought-after her life. She is caught up in a tight corner, especially now her life is about to have meaning. At least with Daniel in the picture, she can have a normal life like every girl of her age. However, that chance is about to be ruined if she accepts the proposal of the rogue alpha, Kyle. “Gwen has to give me more time to think this through.” “There is no time.” “If there is no time, then my answer will be no, your choice.” “Fine, you have 24hrs to come up with a positive answer.” Jane rose to her feet. She cast a stone-face gaze at Bonnie as she spoke with a mean tone. “You will hear my reply when I’m done thinking.” She angrily walked out on Bonnie. She can’t believe that the same people that have advised her against the rogue alpha Kyle are now pressurizing her to accept him all because they want to save their immortality. At least, they should consider her happiness too and her feelings. As she walked down the block, her gaze was suddenly drawn to an old man sitting on the floor begging for alms. The old man was carrying a placard that read: ‘If you don’t know what to do, at least help a friend.’ She felt that the old man was passing a message to her. She couldn’t ignore the old man. She drew closer to him to give him money. When she was about to drop a 20-dollar note on the old man’s plate, the old man caught her by the hand. He slowly raised his head. He was wearing a fancy smile on his face. As he stared at Jane, he whispered, “Do you want me to remain like this?” Jane couldn’t make any sense of what the old man had just said. She had never met him before. She just wanted to help him with a 20-dollar note. She tried to pull her hand away from the old man but he was too strong and he firmly held her. What she feels is not just the strength of an old man. She felt something supernatural that couldn’t be equaled with her strength as a werewolf. “Who are you?” she asked in a quivering voice. “I’m alpha, Jones.” The old man smiled once more as his eyes glowed red.
