The Expected Business Dinner

958 Words
After a few days and a long workday, Daniel and Ava arrived at the businessman's apartment, located in one of the city's most luxurious buildings. She had never been inside, so nervousness settled in her chest. He noticed it immediately and smiled, taking her hand as they both began to explore the premises. Once inside, Ava was amazed by the opulent and elegant decoration, which was in stark contrast to her humble and modest home. Daniel led her to the bedroom he had set aside exclusively for her and showed her a collection of haute couture dresses, each more beautiful and sophisticated than the last. Ava felt a bit intimidated by the situation but tried to maintain a positive and grateful attitude. "These are for you," said Daniel, pointing at the dresses. "I want you to look spectacular at our upcoming business dinner." Ava was overwhelmed by the attention and money Daniel was spending on her. However, she felt a bit uncomfortable when she saw the etiquette governess who was there to advise her on how to behave in high society events. She was a very refined lady, and her elegance and class oozed from every pore. "Who is she?" Ava asked, a bit nervously. "She's Miss Franklin," Daniel responded with a somewhat demanding tone. "She will teach you everything you need to know about etiquette and manners. It's important that you look and behave appropriately in this world." Ava nodded, although she felt a bit overwhelmed by everything that was happening. She wasn't sure how she was going to adapt to this new lifestyle, but she knew she needed to do it to help her family and save Daniel's company. Miss Franklin began advising Ava on how to walk, talk, and behave in public. She taught her how to use special cutlery and carry her purse correctly. Ava tried to pay attention and follow the instructions as best as she could, but sometimes she felt a bit awkward and clumsy. Meanwhile, Daniel watched from afar, satisfied with Ava's progress. He knew she was intelligent and had great potential, but she needed to polish her social and business skills so she could be his partner in both life and business. "You're doing a great job, Ava," Daniel said after Miss Franklin left. "Thank you very much," Ava replied, smiling timidly. "I really need you by my side at the upcoming business dinner. It will be an opportunity for you to introduce yourself to the business world and show them that you're my fiancée. But I also need you to behave appropriately and speak with confidence and elegance. Do you think you can do it?" Ava felt a bit nervous about Daniel's request, but she knew it was important for the company and their future together. "Yes, I'll do my best," she responded with determination. Daniel smiled and hugged her, feeling proud of Ava's attitude. Time passed quickly as Ava continued to learn about etiquette and manners in her new world of luxury and glamour. Despite some difficulties and awkward moments, she began to feel more comfortable and confident. Finally, the dinner date arrived. Ava followed Miss Franklin's suggestions and carefully chose a suitable dress for the occasion. After some consideration, she opted for an intense red evening gown. It was long and form-fitting, with a vibrant, deep-red color. The deep V-neckline was adorned with imitation diamonds, and the long, sheer sleeves were made of delicate lace in the same color. The fabric hugged Ava's body perfectly and flowed to the floor, with a generous side slit that revealed her fair skin. She felt a bit uncomfortable with the intensity of Daniel's gaze on her, but at the same time, she couldn't help but be flattered by his compliments. "You truly are beautiful, Ava," he said as he took her hand and drew her closer to him. "I can't resist you." Ava blushed slightly but felt flattered at the same time. She allowed Daniel to kiss and caress her, although in her mind, she knew this wasn't what she wanted. "Daniel, we need to head to the dinner," Ava said, trying to gently pull away. "Please... Just a few more minutes," Daniel replied, getting even closer to her. Ava allowed herself to go along for a bit longer, trying to enjoy the moment, but eventually, she pulled away slowly and smiled at Daniel. "We really should go now," she said, feeling nervousness running through her veins. Daniel nodded and took her hand as they left the apartment. The atmosphere was romantic, with dim lighting and soft background music in the restaurant. Ava felt a bit nervous about the business dinner but also excited about what might happen next. Within minutes, Daniel arrived at the restaurant with Ava, his "fiancée" and personal assistant. He was eager for the business dinner with his colleagues, but deep down, he was more nervous about the appearance of his ex-girlfriend, Karen Hastings. He knew she wouldn't give up easily and would try to win him back, despite his countless attempts to make her understand that there was nothing left between them. Upon entering the restaurant, Daniel introduced himself to his colleagues and introduced Ava as his fiancée. They all congratulated her and asked about their engagement. Ava tried to appear confident and smiled as she answered their questions. But suddenly, Karen appeared in the restaurant and approached Daniel's table. He became a bit tense and greeted the woman politely. Ava noticed the tension in the air and began to feel... jealousy? What else could it be? The young woman was very confused about her feelings, but the show had to go on. She couldn't lose control. The performance had to continue without her interference.
