“Damon, I don’t want to leave…” Jess cries in my arms
“I know baby, I know you don’t want to leave” I say softly holding her tighter.
“Why? Why do we have to leave?” he voice chokes.
We both knew it was because her mother did not want to live in Chicago after her father’s death…
“You will come back in a few years; you will be back here with me. And we will be together again. You will come back, and we will be married with a soccer team of children just like we have always planned” I tell her softly
“Jessica it is time to leave. We have to leave now.” Mrs. Acosta calls her
Jess stiffens in my arms. I close my eyes and pray theses few years goes quickly so I can hold her in my arms once again.
