Chapter ThreeYola put the maid who had accompanied her to Paris in the ladies’ waiting room and said goodbye to her. She only had an hour to wait before she could catch the train back to Langeais.
Accompanied by a porter carrying her luggage, Yola went outside the station to find waiting for her a very elegant closed carriage with a coachman and a footman on the box.
