Chapter 6
When Driz broke the contact with his mother, Cory kept the steadying hand on his shoulder. It seemed Cory had sensed at least part of the message Driz received. Driz elaborated anyway.
“She said there’s a rogue mage, and that’s how they’ve all been uncovered and taken prisoner. Mum is not a timid woman, but she’s very scared.”
“I caught that, at least the gist of it. Did you get any sense of where this encampment is located? We need to find others who’ve come and might share our mission, then formulate a plan. Unless that rogue’s incredibly powerful, I’m not afraid of him. The mere act of going to the dark side modifies his powers, weakens them in some areas, while enhancing them in others. I think we can stay beneath his level of notice.”
