Waiting Impatiently Pt. 3

Alpha,    OH MY GOD! Stupid computer I was not done….and it sent….I don’t know why it does that. I wasn’t ready to hit send. I am VERY good with computers. I’m so nice to them and then it goes and is mean to me. I am hurt by my computer’s actions….it will go into a time out after this. God...not like a real time out...I’m not a crazy person who puts inanimate objects into a corner….OH my god I swear I’m not a weirdo.   It’s so kind of you to offer to heal me. I’m all good now and cleared by an overzealous doctor. I mean seriously….I was fine a few days ago but the doctor and my friends were ALL male about me being 100% or whatever. I mean...Doctors...right? I mean...they aren’t bad or anything...well some are. You have bad apples in every profession….that’s a thing….that happens...literally all professions. This guy wasn’t a bad doctor...I’m actually grateful to him for helping and everything. It was nice of him...I probably sound ungrateful...damn….I’m really not. It was nice...I was just fine a few days ago...and moving on again.    The training offer. You just have no idea how much it means to me. Maybe someday….we could meet up and talk about it...i don't know when….but someday. Someday is a good time frame. Of course after we meet you’d probably take it all back, but that’s just….umm well yeah. So it’s an incredibly flattering offer. Someday.   Sparring with you...Just wow. I don’t know. You’re so good and you’re distractingly hot like OH MY GOD BYE   Ashley             It was just what I needed. I busted up laughing. Oden and I both liked that she thought we were hot. Which made me feel like s**t until thirty minutes later when EJ linked me to get to the office. Hopefully we got a damn break. I popped to the office. EJ told me to get our allies on skype. I linked Phil, “Get the allies on skype.” Phil said, “Roger...what do we have?” I sighed, “I don’t know.”             A distorted voice was on the phone. Our sniper was back. Ashley was back and our sniper was back. Hell no. Do NOT even go there. Oden sighed, “You are already there. It’s a hell of a coincidence. If it is one.” I linked back, “It HAS to be. She can’t be in a band, the female lead warrior, running a pack, AND in the resistance.” Oden sighed, “You forgot to mention a source for Cayden.” I linked back, “Exactly she has no time. The only person with more things to constantly do is Mel.” I rubbed my head and shoved that out of my mind. Ashley had just recovered from an accident. She couldn’t be running around saving the world. She needed to heal. I smiled to myself and smugly added she thought I was hot. I mentally slapped myself to focus. The sniper was giving us information. She couldn’t do it herself. Well she could, but she wanted to know if we’d go. It didn’t really seem like she doubted we would though. Oden linked, “Almost like someone told her that one of the girls was mated to our family….weird.” I growled, “Shut it. She can’t run off into danger like that. She JUST healed.” Oden snorted, “I think she is, and so do you.” I linked back, “Shut it.”              Jason and the sniper snarked at each other. I knew what Jason’s problem was. He wasn’t sleeping well. The sniper though…..that anger in her tone towards Jason. I didn’t know what that was. I texted Tristan like EJ ordered and linked Oden, “See? It can’t be Ashley. She wouldn’t be that upset with Jase.” Oden linked, “Sure….that has some logic….but so does the fact that Ashley pops back up then so does the sniper.” He was annoyingly right. I got the call back on point. Oden linked, “See? The sniper even listens to us.” I rolled my eyes. The sniper was giving us six fighters in the undergrounds. Damn.              This girl was impressive. How did she know all this stuff all the time? Oden linked, “Maybe….she’s good with computers unless she hits enter too soon AND SENDS AN EMAIL!” I growled at him. I didn’t want to think about that. I’d have to be beyond a hundred percent sure to float that out there. Elise loved Ashley. Theo got mad and snarked at the sniper. She was kind to him though. The complete opposite of Jason. My dad linked me, “That was weird.” it was. Oden said, “Again...making me play the broken record here….but it’s like someone told her Theo’s mate was taken.” He again was annoyingly right. Our sniper could’ve figured that out though if she’d been watching. It was all over the community at this point that Jane was Theo’s, and that we were coming for her. Oden sighed, “Fine...you have a point too.” The sniper gave us more details but cut the call after her and Jason got into it again. Like siblings. That didn’t make sense though either. Melanie was Jason’s only sister, and she was perfectly fine in New York living her dream.              I was annoyed the call got cut off and that Tristan had texted he was minutes away. Everyone was minutes too late lately. Jason said he had a headache and he’d missed his skype call with Mel. Damn it! I wouldn’t have anything to play later. My mom pointed out we’d missed the sniper had said something important. My mom believed the sniper was the seventh fighter. I linked Oden, “Ok….Ashley cannot do all that. That’s too much for one person.” Oden linked, “Not if they have help.” I growled, “Ashley JUST healed. She can’t be fighting.” Oden sighed, “I don’t like it any more than you do….I’m just saying.”              Jason left the room visibly upset. Dalton explained and I asked if he’d be ok. I could confer with Uncle Aiden on something to help him sleep. My mom got next level pissed about the fact that they were getting headaches in Red Run too. She popped out. My dad was now in a bad mood. Tristan ran in and I explained where Jason was. Elise commented the same thing I’d thought. The sniper and Jason went at it like siblings. Which still didn’t make sense. Plus, they couldn’t be siblings. The sniper thought Jason was the Beta. Melanie knew Tristan was the Beta. I told everyone I’d talk to Jason. I’d just talk to Uncle Aiden first. There had to be something to help him get some damn sleep that wasn’t a pill. Jason hated pills.              We spent some time planning. My phone beeped and I walked away.   Alpha Alexander,    When you arrive in Kentucky to save the girls, you’ll need to walk in between the two largest trees. Jump three times, and a panel will pop up. Then you can put in the codes below: 44KKDE23DJ! Three times.    Stay Safe   The Ring Resistance   I sent the email to Micah and linked him, “Try to run down that IP address.” Micah said, “On it. I do love a challenge.” EJ rallied the troops on the lawn.              Once we got there I followed the instructions I’d been given. Micah came with me to put in the code. EJ asked what I was doing. I told him about the instructions. He was rubbing his head for some reason. Once it opened. I popped down with EJ. EJ tried to hold Theo back, but he left then wailed for our mother. My heart wrenched at the emotional pain my brother felt. Goddess please let my mother be able to save Jane. I’ll patiently wait for Melanie's arrival if he can just have his mate. We were being shot at. EJ threw up his shield. Once they stopped shooting, I moved with my men and easily had the situation under control. They were not expecting us at all. A Hackura took off for Madeline’s cell. I knew him. That was one of Angus’ best friends. Drier. He was a good guy. Madeline would probably be heading to the Hackura realm. He was likely going to be a squad leader in a few years under Cayden. Something told me Madeline might just feel rather safe in the Hackura realm right now. Plus, I knew Madeline could fight, but she preferred to design dresses. She was quite good too. She worked for one of our businesses. I’d sent her a proposal about opening her own place. That could be done in the Hackura realm too though. I popped in and told Drier that he could hold Madeline while I healed her. It didn’t take too long. Mom was still healing Jane when I was done. I was ready to step in if need be. Mom was stronger, but if she couldn’t bring Jane fully back to health...I could jump in from where she’d left off.             The second mom was done healing Jane; she sat up and instantly wrapped herself around Theo. His relief was practically washing over me. I was ridiculously happy for my little brother. Madeline said the girl didn’t lie to them. FINALLY! I break they could tell us who she was. I was excited for a whole minute. They didn’t remember. They just knew the girl was a fighter named Swiffer. She wiped the floor with her opponents but first let them beat the s**t out of her. WHAT?! Oden and I were enraged to a degree...I didn't understand. I asked who would do that. They said it was her thing. That she had a deal to make money. That was more than just for money. She could make that by winning. Why was she punishing herself? Oden whispered, “Maybe her family died.” I linked, “STOP THAT! This can’t be Ashley. She won’t meet us or let us help her. I can’t…..You know I can’t handle this being Ashley.” Oden linked, “Sorry Alexander. I can’t either, but you think it if I do.” He was right, but I needed to stop. Ashley couldn’t be that hurt all the time. She was a female lead warrior….of a shitty pack who people LOVED to attack…..not since Ashley took over….but before.              I walked out. Elise followed me and asked if I was ok. I was far from it. If this was Ashley….What could I even do? Nothing. I hated that answer. I NEEDED to do something. I just had nothing. Elise pointed out that the sniper wasn’t trying to die, that she wanted revenge. Yes, but revenge for what? Oden sighed. I winced. Her family. I needed to look into who killed Ashley’s family. Last I knew it was unsolved, but they had to have something. It couldn’t just be rogues they’d hunted down by now if Ashley was the sniper. Elise and I both admitted we were worried. Micah walked up, “That IP address no longer exists. I emailed back and it bounced. My dad and I will keep trying.” I nodded. I took out my phone and dialed the number I’d dialed so many times now. The familiar beep came across.              I sighed and said, “I’m officially worried about you. It’s not a natural state for me. I tend to be calm….on occasion angry. Very angry. I’ve been accused of being moody...which is probably true. I learned something about you tonight and it unsettles me. I am scared for you. I’m begging you to let me help me. I have money. More money than I need. You don’t need to let people beat the s**t of you before you win a fight. You can set up a drop. I won’t even use it to find you. I’ll find you another way. I’m part fairy. I cannot lie. Please….I can’t stand this. For Laxenread and what’s it done for my family alone….I could fund what you’re doing. You saved my brother's mate. You got us here. You’ve saved my family. You’ve saved my best friend. Just please….think about it. I fully intend to find you. I WANT to meet you. I DO NOT hate you.  Please….I don’t know what your fighting routine is about. It honestly sounds like you're punishing yourself. Everyone else thinks it's for more money, but I don’t. Please stop. Just….stop. Let me fund what you’re doing. Keep fighting if you want just….don’t let yourself get hurt so badly. For me. I know I mean something to you….I wish you’d tell me why. Just think about it.”             The machine cut me off. Cayden said, “An interesting appeal.” I turned, “You know I’m right.” Cayden nodded, “I believe you are.” Oden linked, “Alarm bells….they are a ringing.” He was right. I asked, “Do you know who the sniper is?” Cayden said, “I don’t.” I snorted, “You think you do.” Cayden titled his head, “You’re not wrong. I think I do. I have no proof.” I shrugged, “I can help you.” Cayden sighed, “I wish you could. I’m working on it.” I nodded, “If you need anything….let me know.” Cayden raised an eyebrow, “If you get a response to that….will you let me know.” I sighed, “If you heard it….then you heard it. I don’t know if I would tell anyone. I promised not to use it to track them down. I’ll find them, Cayden. I can feel it. I just...I can’t think of someone doing this to themselves. I can help. Maybe I’m an ass for using myself when it’s clear they care about me, but I can’t think of someone doing that.” Cayden shrugged, “You use what you got. At minimum…..you’ll make them consider something.” I nodded. He opened a portal and took his group home.              I popped my men home and ran upstairs to write Ashley an email back. I probably shouldn’t tease her….but I just might. I knew I was far too excited about our emails. I just couldn’t help it. I watched Melanie dance again. She was breathtakingly beautiful. Oden linked, “And ours.” I hoped she was. I minimized the video to type my email back to Ashley. First, I linked Phil, “Look into who killed Ashley’s family...quietly.” Phil linked back, “Who do you love? Who’s your favorite cousin?” He walked into my room. I raised an eyebrow, “You. Why do I love you?” Phil laughed, “I’m awesome of course. My warrior friend...now mated to Blair….who IDOLIZES Ashley Griffen and the ground she walks on. He now has tidbits for me on the elusive and reclusive Ashley. Like….what happened to Ashley’s family other than they were murdered and people blame her.” I said, “Hit me.” Phil said, “Alright.” He punched me in the arm and laughed, “Gotta take my shots where I can. Ashley Griffen’s family was killed by hunters. They all blame her because the family was supposed to be at some event. They came home because she was upset she’d gotten grounded and yelled at them.” I gaped, “Her brother BLAMES her because at fourteen she was pissed at her parents for grounding her?” Phil nodded, “Seems that way yeah...then there’s the other rumor.”                 I frowned, “Don’t like how that started at all.” Phil sighed, “Rumor is that when she didn’t shift at sixteen that confirmed for the pack the dad….wasn’t her dad. The hunter who killed her family is her biological dad.” I snorted, “Bullfuckingshit. I don’t know why she doesn't have a wolf, but hunters are not half as skilled at fighting as Ashley is.” Phil said, “That’s what my warrior friend said. His Blair got VERY interested in that opinion, and peppered him with questions. Then called her friends and they talked for hours. She kept asking him how he knew that. He told her it was common knowledge. I myself ask why that’s not common knowledge in Black Path that hunters….are that….they hunt. Hand to hand combat….not their thing. Tranquilizers, shooting, throwing weapons…..sure….hand to hand like Ashley… nah. She can beat an Alpha werewolf. A s**t Alpha, but an Alpha, nonetheless. That girl is a wolf. Why she doesn’t have one….I find myself more curious with each passing day.” I frowned, “Some people just don’t get them.” Phil shrugged, “I think her old pack just wanted the excuse….maybe she’s half Hackura...that rings truer than a f*****g hunter. I’d have gone with that lie. She’s like us.” Holy s**t. Was that why she trusted Cayden and Micah? She was half Hackura? Surely Cayden would take her home…..he would….I knew he would. Maybe she had Hackura blood in her though. It was a thought. Oden snorted, “A thought that fits but it doesn’t.” He was right. I stretched my fingers and got ready to type my email to Ashley. She’d said we’d meet some day. I wanted it to be someday….soon.
