I rudely jolt awake in a dimly lit room, and I gasp for air. “Dad? Granma?” I cry out into the room look around wildly. This room was familiar. I thought to myself before I realized that I was back in Ava’s office. I was in the past. That thought made me break out in tears and I rolled onto my side and held myself in comfort. My family was here but it wasn’t the same. And now things have gotten completely out of hand with Derick’s unexplained arrival.
