Fire "What the hell?!" Alex said as she eyed me with wide eyes. Her face had paled and I could tell she was trying to understand what was happening. I stood with my mouth open as I stared at her. For the first time, I didn't have any excuses and I wasn't sure what to tell Alex. I wasn't supposed to tell her the truth, right? Barbara hadn't said anything about Alex and I cursed myself for not asking her earlier. I couldn't keep this secret from my friend, at least, not for long.
