Chapter Eleven Her plans to make the most of the beautiful day gone completely out the window—along with her positive mood—Connie locked her door, dumped her backpack, then dropped heavily onto her bed, which creaked loudly in protest. She buried her face into her pillow and let the tears come. Christ, what a mess. All she’d wanted to do was get away from him, get away from the intense misery he’d caused.
