“I’ll be right back. Need to go to the bathroom,” I tell Sharon, making a beeline for the doors at the back of the café that I pray actually do lead to the restrooms. I’m in luck and not only is it a bathroom, but an empty one, allowing me to lock the door and barricade myself in a stall while I work out what to do.
