“Aaaàaaaàaaaaa” “Aaaàaaaàaaaaa” Clarris kept screaming and tearing through the glass windows of her dark castle. Darrell felt his ears wet, he placed his fingers into his ears, removed them and saw blood.
Cleselda yelled at Clarris to shut up. But Clarris turned and looked at her furiously, “you lied to me….. you lied to me!”
“Child do not call me a liar, you disobeyed my orders, we need knights…” Cleselda reminded her.
“Shut up! I made a promise a long time ago,”
The witch moved over, “my child promises are made to be broken. Plus the person you made that promise to is already dead, he died centuries ago.”
“No!” Clarris yelled out.
“Clarris, you saw what happened, if it wasn't for the fact that you have no heart you would be dead by now. That thing aimed for your heart, it meant to kill you!”
Clarris moved to her bed and sat down, “he saw my house without permission, he looked into my eyes without fear. I have read all the books about Nemos and water was their weakness but to him it's his strength. How is that possible!”
“Clarris doing the sacrifice will give us all your answers.”Cleselda pointed out again.
“Will the sacrifice stop that thing from penetrating my barriers! Will it, it is already ten steps ahead of me. It heard you talking about the sacrifice, it heard everything! I need to think, you can all leave now! I need to be alone!” Clarris yelled on top of her voice.
“Cleselda you heard the Queen,” Darrell added.
Cleselda who was so pissed and breathing heavily left the room in anger. Never did she imagine taking orders from Clarris or being disobeyed.
Clarris turned and faced Darrell, “When I said leave I meant everyone.”
“Just wanted to remind you that I meant what I said earlier. Kill the knights and I will betray you.”
Clarris moved swiftly and grabbed Darrell by the neck, “How dare you threaten me, you traitor!” She was so angry because everything was falling apart and now the people around her were making threats. She was not going to condone such disobedience. She hissed and her snake-like hair curled around Darrell's neck and slowly squeezed the life out of him. She turned his head and with a swift, snapped his neck, she let go of his body which landed with a bang on the floor and left the room.
In Crystal tower Marcus was shivering and sweating, Omen kept staring at him for what seemed like forever. “You are scaring me, if you are going to… …. Kill me then just do it,” Marcus finally spoke up.
“Thou shall be making sure that the water down hither is clean and full everyday,” Omen replied.
Marcus looked up at him in confusion, somehow his mind was telling him that he had heard wrong.
“Did…. did... did.. you just say I should be cleaning and filling up water in here?”
“I never repeat what I hast already quoth,” Omen replied.
Marcus did not understand the last statement but he knew asking more questions would lead him into trouble. “sorry sorry, of course that's what you said, I will get on to it. And I'm really sorry I did not mean to hurt you or my other brothers. She made me do it….”
Omen cut him short, “Keep thy sorry.”
“Okay okay, thank you thank you, I will be right back with a bucket……” but before he could finish his sentence Omen dived under the water.
“Okay??” Marcus turned and rushed upstairs he bumped into his entire family eavesdropping.
“He spared you??” Lotus asked annoyed
Marcus just rolled his eyes, “my punishment is to be cleaning and filling the pool down there.”
Nephius grabbed him by his ears, “the Nemo might have forgiven you but not me.”
“OUCH! Let go of me,” Marcus cried in pain.
“Son let go of him, he has learnt his lesson,” king Jerald intervened.
“Father this is the second time that he is betraying us,” Nephius corrected.
“On top of that he hit me with his new water powers,” Barrick added.
“I did not do that on purpose, getting you hurt was the only way to wake up the Nemo, I saved all of us,” Marcus pointed out, sending Lotus into laughter. “You are really full of yourself ain't you? Who led the vengeful witch down the dungeon?”
“I had no choice, she threatened to kill me,” Marcus replied.
“But you led her down the basement to save yourself just like last time when you went outside to make a dumb deal,” Nephius yelled out.
“Calm down everyone,” Rachel spoke up. “Let's all go take seats first.”
“Father, mother please do not tell me you are going to let this slide. Him Cleaning the pool is not enough. We have to throw him outside the barrier so that he can reunite with his witch.”
“I second that,'' Lotus said. For the first time Lotus and Nephius agreed on something. They both looked at Daniel, Miguel and Barrick.
“I second,” both Daniel and Miguel said.
Now it was Barrick and when they all looked at him he looked away.
“Your father and I say no plus the Nemo. What do you think the Nemo will do to you when it finds out that the only person that can whirled water was cast out. Yes what Marcus did was wrong but he learnt his lesson.” Rachel intervined.
“Thank you mother,” Marcus said in a low voice.
“Mother!”
“Do not interrupt me when I'm talking, this is exactly what Clarris wants. Us fighting and getting divided. She picked Marcus because she knew he was nobody's favorite. Your father is not sacrificing his life for you to turn on one of you. He is sacrificing his life for the six of you to beat Clarris,"
“Seven now,” Barrick corrected.
“Yes seven of you, Marcus, you are going to work hard to earn back everyone's trust. We now have a water whilrder let us utilize him just like the Nemo has done. Use your brains,” Rachel said out and helped her husband up who was looking at her with a smile.
“Let me take your father to his room, he needs rest. When I return I need ideas on how to get information to Arthora. We need to warn them of Clarris's plans,” she added
