Chapter 9. Safe or Danger

1577 Words
* Ashley * That night my mother stayed until we finished dinner and until I get back to bed. I feel like a little girl being tuck to sleep by my Mom, same feeling from a long time ago when our family is still together. Now, it is just me and her.  The morning came like usual after getting ready for the day, I got out of my room and see two security men standing in front of my door. They look at me and wonder if they should go with me or stay. "Good morning Miss Snipes!" "Oh! Good morning! Please stay here, I am not getting out of this building today, I will just take a round on the staffs in the lobby." They look at each other and then nodded. "Alright mam, please come back soon and take care of yourself." I smiled back at themm and head out to the nearest elevator. I hope today will be better and that the memories of the incident is already erased from the halls of the hotel. But when I got out of the elevator, I already hear the noise coming from the workers of the renovation upstairs. This floor is below the restaurant and I couldn't even see any of the guest around.  I thought my mother said that we still have a few, and where are the staff? The lobby is empty, I was standing there for a couple of minutes before someone comes out from the elevator.  "Alice?" "Oh! Hi Miss Ashley, Good morning." I look at her up and down clearly noticing how she is dressed up in just a jeans and shirt, not in her tailored top and skirt uniform. "Good morning, where is everybody? How come I haven't seen anyone around working today, You should be in the front desk!" The smile on her face slowly faded as she clears her throat and answer my question. "Your mother is on a meeting with the police department Miss Ash, they have refuse to make this place operate for now so she ordered the staff to go home until she settles everything." "Oh my God!" I close my eyes and thought about how disappointed my mother is feeling right now. How come she did not tell me anything about how the situation have gotten worst. I am sure that Mrs. Anderson is not yet aware of our business situation. I pressed my fingers in the middle of my head and groan. "I am sorry Miss Snipes, I just came to get a few thing and now I am heading back home. I think it's better if you talk to your mother about our current situation." "Thank you Alice." I nod my head and let her go on her way, I need to call my mother. s**t! I curse myself for not bringing anything with me, now I need to go back into the room where I'm staying and call my mother. As I walk in the silent hallway to the nearest elevator, I feel strange how silent it is right now. The workers upstairs must be taking a break, I walk fast and look for the room I am staying. I should be looking at the two men guarding the door but now the place is empty, where could they be? Are they taking a break too? I shrugged my shoulders and open the door, closing it lightly behind me I look for my mobile inside the room and see it on the top of the small table beside my bed. I walk towards it and grab the object to dial for my mother's number when I heard a loud noise coming from the door. "What the?!" My tongue froze inside my mouth when I saw two men standing in front of me looking at me with menacing eyes and their mouths open with sharp fangs expose in the air. I felt the chill of fear crawl through my skin. "Who are you people? What do you need from me?" I need to stay calm while I put my hand backwards holding the phone. My fingers quickly pressed the emergency button and let it ring on the other line. "Oh! We came to finish the job Miss Snipes. Our leader wants you, so you need to come with us!" It was followed by a growl coming from his companions, I notice that there are more of them outside my room. "No! I am not coming with you. You will answer to the Alpha King if you hurt me and the security he left to guard this place." The big man move forward and laugh. "Those lame securities are not coming from the Langston Palace. They are already gone before you even come back here from your round." His mouth twisted in mockery making me feel sick thinking that they have killed the two just now, to get me. "I have no reason to be involve with you, why are you bothering me and my hotel?" His face became enraged with anger. "But you are the fated mate of the Prince and you are the only one who can make him fear us. Don't you know that he will move heavens just to protect you?" I shake my head vigorously. "That's not true! He doesn't care about me! It's useless, you can end my life but the Prince of wolves will not submit to the likes of you!" His hand grab my arm and pulled me hard against him. "We will see about that!" A loud noise erupted suddenly and the wolves who are with the man holding me rush to get out of the room to check outside. Then the ground shake and just like a speed of a lightning his image appears in front of us followed by a gust of wind. "Let go of her hand now!" Just like thunder, his words echoes in the air commanding the enemy. His eyes are glowing red and his brows meet in an a furious expression. I feel the hand of the man holding me slowly unclasp from my arm, as he groans as if in pain. "I don't want to follow you, but I could not help myself. Agh! What is happening?" He drop on the ground with his knees breaking the concrete floors.  "Kneel!" Prince Vincent shouted and the wolves who just entered the room drop on their knees and kneel before him. "This is a shame. Damn it!" I heard the man gritted his teeth while the others are silent. Now Prince Vincent started to walk in front of me and grab my other arm. "Are you hurt?" His firm chiseled jaw flex as his eyes move all over my face and down my body, checking me for any sign of injury. The heat coming from his hand makes me feel that I am already safe. "No, I'm fine. You are just in time." The noise outside became louder and then the familiar faces of the wolves from the Langston palace came in. "Take them back to the palace as prisoners while Alex and Caleb stay and watch the entrance and exit of the hotel!" "Yes your majesty!" They all bow to him while they just give me a quick glance before taking the wolves who are kneeling on the ground. It is amazing how they are afraid now that the warriors of the Royal pack are here. They could not even find their tongue to speak back to them. His attention move back to me as he is still holding my arm. My eyes are drawn to his face being perfect with all the features that a man can ever possess. "Let's get out of here. This place is no longer safe for you Ashley." My brows furrows in a deep question. "And where should I go? This is my home." "To your mother's house, she is already waiting for us. I spoke to her on the phone." He added casually as we watch the wolves took the intruders away. I controlled my breathing until it goes back to being normal, I have been traumatized more than once in this hotel. I think I have no choice but to leave, my mother and I needs to talk about how this situation affects our business so maybe it is better to go back to her house. "I guess I don't have another choice right now." "Yes Ash, it's best to follow me and get out of here, I can protect you and your mother against my enemies. You need to trust me that I will never let anything happen to you and her." I gritted my teeth now that the reason of this dilemma is clear. "Oh! I remember how that man tells me that they wanted to take me because I am fated to be your mate, I thought we are done with this issue. You have already agreed to let me off from that stupid idea, but why are they after me?!" I raise my voice while looking at his face. The pain frustration and trauma that I experience gives me enough courage to confront him. "It's hard to explain but we will talk Ash, when we get to your mother's house I will tell you everything that you must know." His serious expression persuaded me from agreeing to his suggestion. But I will have my answers soon.
