He took a white napkin from the basket and spread it on the ground. In another piece of clean linen there were sandwiches made with pieces of meat between fresh baked bread thickly spread with butter. There were two glasses and a bottle of wine. “How did you get this?” she asked in surprise. “I am asking you to share my supper.” “Yours and Denzil’s. What about him?” “He and Jake have ridden off to find food.
