Abigail
The next day started really interestingly. St. Peter became my temporary guardian and he woke me up early to attend my first lesson as an angel. As soon as I stepped in the academy all eyes were on me. I lifted my head up and walked to the direction Peter told me without trying to get sad or angry due to the whispers around me. This was my chance to take care of my sister and parents even after my death. I was determined to be the best angel and become guardian angel before any of these true-blooded angels here. Luckily, the last night St. Peter gave me a little lesson about the hierarchy in Heaven. Obviously God was at the top of everything, his wife followed him, than their kids, excluding those who committed sins or went against their father's wishes and were banished to Hell. After them there were a few higher ranked angels, most of them worked in the academy and decided in matters that God found too trivial. Under them, the guardian angels, true-blooded angels, saints, humans, and as excepted, tainted angels just like myself. For thousands of years there wasn't anyone who has been given the opportunity that I now have. Knowing that I took a deep breath and knocked on the director's door.
- Come in! - his voice sounded similar to priest Alexander's and sent a chill down on my spine. I opened the door and bowed in front of the director. Peter gave me appropriate clothes, still I stood out between the true-blooded angels. The director stood up and without saying a word, he walked a circle around me. He scanned me with a curious look. When he finished walking he stopped in front of me and finally looked me in the eye.
- Is this some kind of joke? - he asked and I felt anger growing in me. I've never felt such a carnal feeling in my whole life before. Not even when Fabian raped me... It was pure disgust.
- I came to attend the academy. Saint Peter sponsored me. I want to become a guardian angel. - he caressed his long white beard. The director looked exactly like the mages in the books my sister loved so much. She found witches and magic awesome, but I never allowed her to tell about this hobby to anyone else. I took her secret to the tomb literally.
- Impossible. - he said and turned his back on me. I felt tears filling my eyes. How can he be so cruel? I thought this was Heaven... Maybe everything I've learned as a human was a lie? Heaven is supposed to be a place where people can find peace and live their afterlife in happiness. I only spent here two days, yet my last happy moment was outside of Heaven's door.
- Why? - I asked trying to sound strong, but in reality I was slowly shattered. He turned back and crossed his arms in front of his chest.
- You don't have divine power. All angels are born with it. Without divine powers you can't become a guardian angel, not even an angel. St. Peter is getting too soft hearted... Go back to the Earth and reincarnate or something, for your soul another sin it doesn't matter. "Another sin?! What sin did I ever commit?!"
- TEST ME! - I shouted at the director. He suddenly shivered and his eyebrows ran to the middle of his forehead.
- Excuse me? - he asked and I repeated my sentence slowly.
- I said Test Me. If I don't have not even a crumb of divine power I'll go. But If I do, you must accept me and give me the same treatment as you do for the other students! - he laughed at me and shrugged.
-Easy win. - he put his hand on my forehead and I didn't feel anything. The smirk from the director's face faded and changed into genuine surprise. Call me crazy, but I even saw fear in his eyes while he pulled his hand back.
-Your lesson starts in five minutes at the classroom 5, Abigail. - he said and motioned at the door. I thanked him and left with a victorious smile on my face. After that day I've never met the director again until the day Eunice died...
********************************
I woke up and stretched. It was freaking uncomfortable to sleep in the armchair but somehow, it became my habit in the last few weeks. I noticed that the fire was out so I swirled my fingers in the air and light it up again. I smiled as the fire disappeared from my fingertips without leaving even a slight burn. This was one of the first things I've learned after I ended up in Hell. I was covered with a thick blanket and a smile spread on my face. Belyar acted like a nanny sometimes, still it was good to know that he had my back and took care of me. I got up and decided to surprise him. I checked his room and he was still asleep. The cerberus puppy I obtained from an illegal traffic for him was sleeping at his leg. I wondered how he taught the dog not to eat him... I mean, Belyar was made of bones mostly... I closed the door carefully and walked to the kitchen to prepare some breakfast for us. While I waited for the water to boil I enjoyed the view of my rose garden. I walked to my tiny cabinet, closed by the strongest magic I had ever got from the witches I met. After telling the spell the cabinet opened and the blood from my roses lined up in a neat line in front of me. I took one out and grinned while I put it back. Soon, they'll be a real good use for me. The water was already boiling and I poured it into two cups with tea leaves. I was about to slice some bread when I noticed a shadow standing at the end of my garden. It was a low ranked demon. I groaned and changed into Michael before I appeared behind him. The demon was trying to rip off one of my roses. I grabbed him by his neck and said in a low voice.
- Very bad move. - I released him and he turned around ready to fight.
- Really?! Who says it? You couldn't even get a demon from! Do you think you can beat me up?! - he asked and clenched his fists lifting them up in the air. I rolled my eyes and suddenly heard Belyar's voice from the door.
- WHAT THE f**k ARE YOU DOING?! - I knew Belyar wasn't talking to me. The small demon in front of me glanced at Belyar and laughed.
- I'm just getting rid of a bug Belyar! I'll be there in a minute! - Belyar had a painful grimace on his face.
- Ozy, you i***t. Kneel down for the sake of that miserable, pathetic life of yours! - the demon in front of me looked at Belyar surprised. Belyar theatrically bowed towards me and said.
- Please have mercy my Lord. This i***t doesn't know who he is talking to. - the demon Belyar called Ozy looked at me and laughed again.
- Stop joking Belyar! Why are you protecting this human looking weakling? - I tilted my head and put my hands into the pockets of my suit.
- Do you need this? - I asked Belyar and he shook his head. I smiled at Ozy and leaned down to be at the same level as him.
- You get a last chance to disappear from my sight.
- Empty threats don't scare me! You don't even have power! - I sighed and stood tall.
- I'll show you power. - I felt my disguise's face distort and my handsome smile turned into a maniac grin. I didn't even need to touch this little demon to snuck all of his power out. As soon as he realized what was going on he tried to ran away.
- Belyar, did the doggie have a breakfast already?
- Not yet my Lord. - I whistled to Belyar's dog. He rushed to me and sat on my left.
-Cinnamon... Catch! - I ordered and the three headed beast rushed after Ozy. I walked back into the house and changed into my real form.
- Breakfast is almost ready Belyar, take a seat. - Belyar sat to the table and waited for his breakfast, in the meantime Cinnamon came back licking his mouth. I caressed his heads.
- Who is the good boy?! You are! - I turned to Belyar who was slowly drinking his tea and asked.
- By the way, who was that?
- Oh just one of the thousands of lost souls who decided to become a demon. Not a loss there are plenty of them roaming around.
- I got that part, but did you know him and what he was doing here?
- I found him and thought it would be a good help with my side job. I'll find another, who knows? Maybe the next one would be sharper than this.
