Varian was at the departure hall waiting for the pilot to ask him to come in; he had a file in, and he had been reading a single line multiple times, but he could not understand a single thing, and his mind was not processing it at all. His mind kept wandering back to the hug that Ellen had sprung on him when he was about to leave the house. It was short-lived, but he could still feel her warm fuzzy hands on his neck. He gulped down and looked up from the file he was looking down at. His eyes wandered and landed on Baron, who was sitting opposite him while staring him down. Varian sat up straight and dropped the file in his hand to the side. He could not work as he thought of working before getting on the plane, at least to make up for all the ways he had not worked since this saga began.
