Stephan (POV)
I sat in the back watching Ember. She stayed snuggled in Victor's arms the whole way to Dimitri's pack. I would be lying if I said I was not jealous. I could feel her anger growing, and it was making me anxious. I wanted to comfort her and tell her it would be okay. But I couldn't. She needed Victor right now. I kept telling myself it was only because her human was out, not her bear. If her bear was out she would need me. It didn't help.
A few nights ago, I went to talk to Sasha and had her explain Ember's bonds to me. She told me to try and look at Ember as different people. To try and see the person that was mated to Xavier, Rex, and Victor were three different people. Just like the person that was mated to me was different from their mates.
