The two on the porch frowned at each other then Tom stood up.
"Young lady this is my property, how did you get here?"
"I was looking for something and got lost, I wanted to approach you when I heard you over talk about the guardians?"
Tom smiled at the woman "See? I'm not the only one?"
The woman shook her head and entered the house.
"Ok Missy, how can I help you?"
Blair cleared her throat "Well, it will sound very odd, but I'm looking for a werewolf"
Tom's head bucked back "Girl, you looking for a werewolf without a gun or knife or anything!?"
"Well... Yes?"
"It's dangerous Missy, have you even seen the pictures people take of this so called werewolf? It's dangerous"
"I know, maybe an expert hunter like yourself can point me in the right direction?"
Tom frowned "How'd you know I'm a hunter?"
Blair decided she'll take her chances "You managed to find that large black wolf rather easily didn't you?"
"You saw that?"
"Yes, weren't you afraid? You came right up to it and took a picture!?"
He laughed "I say I was on edge, but it saved my life moments before that"
"Saved you?"
"Yes, from a bear"
Blair pretended to be shocked "Wow, that's so fascinating, can I see the picture?"
"Sure" He handed her the photo, there she stood over the elk, her purple eyes clearly visible in the dark black fur.
"She really is pretty, but, isn't this a werewolf?"
"No, the werewolf stands on it's hind legs like a human, I believe this wolf came to hunt it"
Blair smiled and handed him the photo back, it was then that he realised her eyes are also that same hue purple.
"Odd" He said tilting his head.
"What is?"
"Your eyes, it's the same as the wolf"
"I noticed" She smiled.
Tom looked back into the house, then back at her "Is it you?"
Blair smiled "Maybe..."
He started laughing "So? A young girl looking for a werewolf alone, without a rifle, or a knife... It must be... You?"
She shrugged "Any word on the latest whereabouts of this werewolf?"
Blair could see he was excited out of his mind "Well, I have not seen this wolf, nor have I had a close encounter, but I can take you to someone, the man's name is Frankie, he's kind of a nut case and that's one of the reasons people don't believe him, I personally can't say if I do, he really has a screw loose"
Blair gave a respectful nod "That would be kind of you"
He twitched his head "Let's go, I'll take you there"
Blair followed the man to his horses and he mounted one, Blair stood looking at this.
"Come, get on that white one"
"I never rode on a horse"
"Oh, ok then hop up behind me" He said holding his hand out.
Blair took his hand and using his reigns she hoisted herself onto it's back.
"Kay now hold on to my jacket, it's only about a mile and a half down the road"
Blair nodded and clasped his leathers, they set off out of the farm and down the dirt road. She enjoyed it somewhat, even if the ride was bumpy, deep in her she was relieved thinking the horses might have sensed the wolf in her and panicked.
"So? You joked about the wolf thing right?" Tom called over his shoulder.
"The black wolf?" She asked.
"Yeah, werewolves are known to shape shift, I've never heard of any other creature that does that?"
"Are there more creatures you can't explain?"
"Yeah! Bigfoot is one of them"
"Bigfoot?"
'They keep to themselves' Maikah said in her subconscious.
"Big, strong, hairy, thumps trees, you know?"
"Never heard of them before" Blair said.
'They come and go as they please but are no threat to man, there is only one that you need to be worried about in the future, but that's for the future' Maikah said.
They slowed down as they entered a town, this was the busiest town Blair has ever seen, people on horses, horse carriages, their attire was so bizarre to her it had her staring at everyone she passed.
"Something tells me you never seen a town like this?" Tom asked seeing her glancing everywhere.
"Yes, I have never"
"You're an Indian girl hey? What clan are you from?"
'Don't tell him the truth!' Maikah said in her mind.
"Uh, Blackmoon"
"Blackmoon? Never heard of them?"
"We are only a few, we reside in Alaska"
"Oh, now it makes sense, but you're a bit far south young lady, what are you doing here any way?"
She looked up at him with an indicating smile.
"Seriously? You really are down here looking for a werewolf?"
"Yes, yes I am"
"Dang raggit, never thought I'd see the day"
"Dang... Raggit?"
"It's something I say if I'm dumbstruck"
"Oh... Dang" She said giggling.
"Over here" He said and stopped the horse at a shop that said "Frankie's hattery"
"Hattery? What the hell is a hattery?" Blair asked.
"He makes hats, but trust me lass, the term 'Mad as a hatter' will never be more clear once you meet this old geezer"
Blair tipped her head "Geezer?"
Tom chuckled "It's a term for an old grumpy guy"
Tom reached for the doorknob but turned to her first "I forgot to ask your name?"
"It's Blair"
He smiled "Blair of the Black moon clan... Wow sounds eerie..."
"What does eerie mean?" She tilted her head again but Tom laughed.
"Don't let it bother you, let's go" He said and opened the door, the voice of this Frankie was like a trumpet blowing through the room.
"Ye bastards what ye belookin for!?" The hunched over white bearded man yelled sitting behind a hat he was busy with.
"What does belookin mean?" Blair asked making Tom burst out with laughter.
"And why does he say ye, like in ye, and what does bastards mean?" Blair continued, Tom couldn't contain his laughter.
