Chapter 2 the news

829 Words
“How was school, Christine? Anything interesting happened?” asked her dad happily. Her parents had always wanted children, but couldn't on their own. So they adopted, and when they had heard of Christine, they wanted her very much. They had talked to Christine's birth parents, and despite the heartache, they had to keep her hidden away from them, but they watched from afar. To make it look like they could be Christine's actual parents, they had chosen Amelia and Andrew Pevensie. A couple that Christine's birth parents could trust with their little girl. Similar to Christine both Amelia and Andrew were blondes and had a natural tan. Amelia was 34, 5ft2, with long blonde hair and blue eyes just like Christine. Andrew was 36, 5ft10, short dirty blonde spikey hair also with blue eyes. Andrew was sitting by the kitchen table keeping Amelia company while she was making dinner. “Yeah dad it was an interesting day, I got an English project to do on Greek myths… the gods and goddesses… I chose Apollo and Aphrodite… as I did my research, I noticed that we’re kind of alike care to explain to me?” asked Christine with a concerned look on her face. Her parents exchanged glances at each other and Amelia stepped away from the dinner that was simmering on the stove and sat down at the table with them. “Well, this day had to happen eventually… we have to tell her Amelia….” said her dad to her mom with a bummed look on his face. Clearly not wanting to tell Christine this secret they knew, and it was making Christine nervous seeing them like this. “You’re right Andrew and after all, she found out on her own. You are going to want to sit down Christine there’s something your dad and I need to tell you.” said her mom with a concerned and sad look on her face.  “Ok what is it something to do with my school project?” asked Christine getting more and more curious. She was just hoping they could just spit it out already and not leave her in suspense.   “Yeah… um-how to explain this… um-the reason you notice similarities between Apollo and Aphrodite and yourself is that-they’re your biological parents… Christine, you’re a goddess…” said her dad, and Christine was in shock couldn’t believe what she just heard… “What-uh did you just say I’m a goddess why didn’t you tell me before!? What powers do I have?! Why, are you just telling me this now!?” Rightfully so, Christine was in a state of shock… her parents tried to calm her down and explained the rest of the story of what happened to her real parents.  “Your parents wanted you to find out on your own and specifically told us not to tell you, and said it was some higher-up law or something like that.” said her mom confusedly and sadly   “Oh, I see well I guess that makes sense… so can I see my parents?” Christine asked excitedly. “How are you going to do that Christine you have school?" asked her dad in an angered tone “Yeah, and the last break before graduation starts tomorrow I can fly to Greece and at least see their temples… it’s probably as close to them I’ll get…”  “Fly to Greece where are you going to get that cash for a ticket!?” Her dad getting angrier and angrier about this idea. Despite her being his adopted daughter, she was still their daughter no matter what. Blood or not. “Have you forgotten that I work at a music store where I get paid? I can spare a little cash from my bank account to buy myself a ticket,” said Christine proudly. “Yeah, Andrew she’s been working there for six months why not let her go?” said her mom agreeing with Christine   “Well, Amelia she’s flying across the continent by herself that’s why!” her dad kept getting more concerned and angry. “If you don’t want her to fly by herself, then we can fly with her… but she’s 18 I think she can handle it.” said her mom proudly wanting to give Christine some trust. “Alright, mom way to support me ha-ha in your face dad I can so do this!" Christine smirked as her mom was defending her to go on this big trip. “Alright, alright Amelia… she can go to Greece…” said her dad...but to the ladies, it seemed like he was a little sad to let her go. “Screams, thank you daddy you won’t be disappointed!” Christine gave him a big hug and ran up to her room to pack. “I know I won’t be now you should go to your room and pack your suitcase.” said her dad sadly
