Sir, you have a letter from your mother again, she wants to know when you're going to have the mating ball. so you can find your mate?” Rolling my eyes, i looked at my beta Green, every year my mom wants me to have this stupid mating ball so i can find my damn mate, I never do, i usually go home with a one night stand than end up kicking her out the next day, sighing i told my beta to tell her i won't be having one this year, im taking a break from it,

“You know she is going to come here and demand that you have that ball, right?”

“Green, i just do not care, i know she has been the luna of this pack for many years, but im the alpha now, I will find my luna when the time is right, im only f*****g twenty, im not in a hurry to have pups, thats the only reason why she wants me to have a mate, she thinks once i do she will get grandbabies, and i don't want that right now, let me deal with and my pack, then i will get the mate and pups, tell her there is no ball this year, maybe next year,” I heard him chuckle,

“Alright if you say so. i will let her know, just be prepared with her coming here and demanding,” i couldn't help but chuckle, we knew my mom all to well, i will handle the problem once she comes, because goddess knows that she will be storming in this office and demanding to know the real reason why i won't have the ball, I want a woman that will want me for me, not just because of a mate bond. And if i happen to find my mate, then so be it,

I had rather not gone back to her house and told her about the mating ball, i couldn't stand those either, but with his mom always insisting that we have them just to find his mate. we had no choice, but Bear said not this year maybe next year, oh she is not going to like this at all, he wants to do what i did to find my mate, i searched for her, i went out of country, i went to other packs, and believe it or not i found her one day when we were fighting rogues, and again believe it or not she was a rogue, She didn't want to fight so she was hiding, the leader was making them fight if they didn't he would harm their family, one the leader was dead, they submitted to us, she didn't come out at first, but i smelled her scent, I followed all the way in the middle of the woods where she was hiding, she submitted to me right away she didn't know we were mates, she was only seventeen, she would had to wait until she was of age, i took her back to the pack house and had her live in a room next to mine, once she turned of age and shifted, she realized we where mates, we been together for over a hundred years, she told me what the leader had made them do, eithern they did what he told them to do or he would them in the slave market, I didn't even know they were still around, but they are, its called the black market, Some rogues would sell their kind to get extra money, even some alphas would sell their omgeas just to get them out of their packs, Our omgeas are strong, we let them train, we train them with a easy target at first, like a punching bag or a dummy, once they get stronger, they can train with the new recruits, once we decide to try them with a sparring partner, we put them agaisnt one of the warriors, the warrior will be easy on them until they are stronger, and then, if they still can't spar against them, they have to start at the begaining,

We won't let them not train, we keep our pack strong, the youngest starts at the age of 13, that way they can start getting stronger so when it's time to shift it won't hurt so much for them, i finally made it back to his mothers house, she was waiting on the porch swing with his father, he had a smirk on his face, he already knew that his son didn't want a mating ball this year,

“Excuse me, but i think i'm going to head inside and see what king of paperwork i need to look through,” the jerk, he knew what i had to do, he wanted no part of it, he knew he didn;t have any paperwork he had to look through, i sat beside Rose.

"So, what did my son the alpha had to say about the mating ball? Did he say when it will be?” i gulped, knowing full well i was going to regret telling her this, but here i go,

“Mrs Rose, The alpha doesn't want a mating ball this year. He wants to find his mate another way, my luna,”

‘David, i am not your luna anymore, But my son needs to find his mate and if i have to force him to have a mating ball i will,” Sure enough she walked off the porch heading to the back house to demand that he has this ball, His father Wes came out of the house,

“I warned Bear that his mother was on the way, i feel sorry for him, but i also know that he wants to find his mate his own way not because of some mating ball i didn't find Rose at a mating ball, You know where i found her, in a club, I was there to blow off some steam and drink, and there she was at the bar asking the bartender for a mix drink called cranberry and vodka, we talked all night long.got to know each other, at the end of the night she came home with me, than went back to her pack to tell her parents, then came back to mine, She has tried to tell Bear a different story, but Bear knows the truth, i already told him when he was seventeen., I warned him that his mother would push him to get a mate, I sighed nodding my head, i never knew how they met until today, I wondered how Bear is going to handle his mother demanding that he finds his mate, we will see. I got up from the porch swing, running toward the pack house,

Rose pov

How dare he go against my wishes, when i told him he needed a mating ball to meet his mate, we have one every year for him, we invite all the unmated to these things, i know His dad and I found each other another way, but he didn't have to know that. I warned him, Storming into his office, I stood there with my arms crossed over my chest.

‘What is it, Mother? you see, i have work to do, i need to figure out why and how rogues are coming onto my land,”

“Don't take that tone with me young man, I demand you tell me why you don't want a mating ball this year,” He closed the folder he was looking at then looked at me with a look of humor on his face.

“Mom, your demand does not work with me anymore, but you are my mother, and I respect that. I am the alpha. What i say goes if you remember, I do not want a mating ball, Nor do I ever want one, all there is, are females drooling at my feet wanting me to choose them to be my mate, i'm not choosing anyone. I will look for my mate when i am good and ready, but right now, I have a pack to work on. i have rogues to question and to keep out, I know i need a mate but i am not looking right now, If your still wanting to do a mating ball then do it for the other packs and not for me, Now if you excuse me mother, I have work to look over and a few phone calls i need to make.” i have never been more proud of my son than i am at this very moment, He finally stood up to me, I didn't like it, but he did what he needed to be done, and i will do what i need to be done,

“Fine, But i'm still doing one, and You will attend, even if i have to drag you by your f*****g hair to it,” I got up from my chair than left, i heard him chuckle, as i walked away, I swear that boy reminds me of me and his father,
