My bed was very soft and comfy, the blankets oddly warm and comforting. It was almost like it was made out of clouds. A door opens gently then closes again.
"Dude! Your mate is the White ninja?" A voice whispers. Another voice shushes him and, now noticing that this wasn't my bed and I wasn't alone, I slowed my breathing and heart rate so they would think I was still sleeping.
The owner of the first voice sounds like he punches the second, who I'm sure is Mr. Alpha. They leave together and I hear them talk louder as they go down the hallway. I jolt upright, quickly checking myself to make sure I'm still covered and secret. I find my mask still on and my body still covered with my outfit. I sigh with relief and sit at the head board, getting as far away from the door as I could and viewing the entire room at once.
One two pane window with transparent light brown curtains, showing that I was passed out for at least four hours. The bed I was braced upon was a white mattress, and the wood, a light brown. The carpet was white with a light brown rug underneath the bed. There was a wicker rocking chair across from the door, also light brown. The bed was in the corner by the window and the door was in the other corner of the room.
I flatten myself against the wall when I hear footsteps coming to the door, and it cracks open a small amount, showing off a pair of amber eyes. Suddenly the door opens more and a woman walks in, smiling and making her slight wrinkles crease--wisdom wrinkles. Her eyes turn a blue colour in the light and she notices my stance against the wall.
"Oh, poor girl. I'm not going to cause you harm. My name is Carmen, the Luna of this pack. Did you know there was a pack here?" She asks. After a few moments I nod my head, and she nods her own. She takes a gentle step in my direction but I climb further up and against the wall, so she stops and looks at me with pity. I notice her hair is an auburn colour and gently wavy, her face calming and motherly.
"Oh, honey. What did my son do to you?" She cries. The door opens roughly this time, hitting the wall as it swings open.
"Why didn't you tell me she was awake?" He growls. His mother stares at him and he softens.
"What?" He asks.
"What did you do to the poor girl? She is terrified of us!" She yells and Mr. Alpha tenses.
"Me? I don't know!" He exclaims, then points out the door. Carmen leaves reluctantly as her son spins around and faces me, his eyes softening.
"Who are you?" He asks, trying to sound gentle and calm, but I can tell he is still irritated from the small argument. I don't respond and he takes a step closer, making me growl at him to back away.
"Who are you?" He asks, a demanding tone in his voice. When I say nothing he sighs and sits in the rocking chair.
"Let's try this again. My name is Hunter, I am your new Mate and Alpha." He says, leaning back into his chair. I took this moment to look at him, dark brown hair that was slightly wavy, but not too long. His eyes were green and his jawline was squared and manly. Under his shirt I could see his many muscles and several tattoos peeking out under his sleeves. He wore a simple black shirt and blue jeans. Sadly I have seen what lies underneath all of his clothes. I growl once more and lift my legs from the bed, resting them on top of the headboard also. 'Hunter' stands up and walks closer, making me crawl up the wall, pressing my hands on the ceiling and my feet against the wall to actually lift up in the air. He stops at the bed, looking up at me.
"You will become my mate and Luna." He simply says, in a tone that tells me that he isn't going to argue about it. I growl, leaning my head downward slightly to stare him in the eye. He whips a hand out to grab my mask, but I swiftly kick a foot up and smack his hand away. He angrily growls at me, but leaves the room.
"I will see your face!" He promises as he leaves, Carmen rushing in to clean up his emotional mess. She tries to get near me to relax me, but I refuse her hands and she reluctantly leaves. I scan the room again, looking for a way out, so I choose the window first. Glancing out I see at least four stories beneath me. I might be able to scale it, but leaving and not getting caught by the time I got to the bottom alive seemed unlikely.
I tuned my ears to the noises outside my door, trying to see if I could tell if there were any hallways or moments when it was empty. At around noon a large crowd of people pass by singing Christmas songs and disappear downstairs, pack lunch I guess.
Small footsteps come towards my door, possibly a small girl who heard that I was in the house, and the door opens slightly. The girl gives a small giggle and pushes in a tray of food. The girl looks about nine or ten with the same green eyes as Hunter, a sister maybe. Her hair, the same auburn as Carmen, probably her daughter. I make them related in my mind and watch the girl as she rolls the tray in and looks at me with wide eyes of amazement. She looks me over for a few minutes and I tell myself that she shows no harm, so I gently take a step down to get a better look at her. She has the same face shape as her mother and gentle freckles forming on her cheeks, adding more to her childish beauty.
Such an innocent sister to a controlling man.
She steps back and leaves the room, a slight blush forming on her cheeks. She will probably take this close encounter as a brag to use with her friends. I step out of the pose I was in and gingerly tip-toe to the food, my stomach growling from missing breakfast.
Carefully sniffing the tray, I detect a sleeping medication smell coming from the innocent looking macaroni and cheese. The milk with it also has the same traceable scent, but the banana that was brought with it all was the only thing without the drugs in them. Hunter no doubt placed these in my food in order to unmask me when I passed out. I snatch the banana from the tray and go back to my perch, eating quietly. After the peel was left, satisfying my hunger, I placed the waste on the tray. Right as I return to my perch the girl comes in again, smiling until she sees the tray untouched, and her face falls considerably. She tries to smile again, but I know that something I did will bring trouble on later. She leaves the room to be replaced by her mother, who also sees the untouched food. She smiles lightly with amusement before holding up several colorful shirts, pants and dresses.
"Let's get you cleaned up." She says and starts placing the clothes out. She holds up a yellow tank top with black leggings, but I shake my head. Then she holds up a blue sweater, but I still shake my head. The next is a turquoise dress with a black and green pattern over shirt. I shake my head one last time and she sets the clothes down for me to choose from. I don't touch the clothes she layed out, so she resumes holding things up. After many other dresses and shirts she holds up one of the simplest white dresses I've seen, Father not allowing me to wear dresses often. I gently reach out for it, Carmen giving it to me halfway. I snatch it quickly, trying to avoid contact, and feel the fabric in between my fingers.
Carmen intently watches my reaction to the garment, carefully watching my eyes scan the cloth and my hands gently caressing it. I hand it back quickly, making sure my temptations to try it on go unheeded. Carmen grabs it, looking at it as if trying to figure out why I found it so interesting, and then places it back with the other clothing pieces. She leaves without another word, and I hear yelling from down the stairs, probably Hunter scolding his sister about my lack of eating. Pressing against the wall I listen as his mother's voice joins the shouts and calms them down. After a few slamming doors all gets quiet downstairs, and then the girl walks in again, pale and shocked. She tries to wipe it away and smile at me.
"My name is Lydia. What's yours?" She asks. I shake my head at her and her smile fails again. She looks at her feet, but then stares straight ahead, probably listening to something. She sighs and walks closer to me.
"Can you tell me who you are?" She asks. I shake my head again and she looks away.
"Why not?" She asks. I only look at her, refusing to answer and have her hear my voice. She leaves after this, closing the door softly and Hunter asking her questions. When she does, he punches a wall and comes into the room with me. I glare at him and he glares at me, his eyes fluctuating between green and black every once in a while as he sits in the rocking chair. I steadily brace myself on the wall and ceiling again as he settles comfortably.
"You have two choices: you can move into my room and be unmasked gently, or you can be unmasked forcefully later on." He says. I tighten my muscles and growl again, so he stands up and tries to get into my face.
"You will be with me, one way or another." He growls and stares me in the eye. His irises get brighter until they flash and I feel the burning heat again, but I manage to keep a hold in my perch, and he storms out.
"We'll see what your decision is after tonight!" He yells as he walks away.
