A surge of adrenaline flooded into Flic. It urged her to move fast, as she crawled over the debris of the shattered dining table, to escape the wolf prowling towards her. Splinters bit into her hands, but her need to get away from Gavin dragged her through the pricks of discomfort. They paled in comparison to the pain riddling her body, but she couldn’t stop to think about her wounds. She knew if she did, it would be the last thing she would ever do.
