A surge of adrenaline flooded into Flic. It urged her to move fast, as she crawled over the debris of the shattered dining table, to escape the wolf prowling towards her. Splinters bit into her hands, but her need to get away from Gavin dragged her through the pricks of discomfort. They paled in comparison to the pain riddling her body, but she couldn’t stop to think about her wounds. She knew if she did, it would be the last thing she would ever do. With no weapons to defend herself, all she could do was try and get some distance from her captor. If she shifted now, Gavin would be on her before her paws touched the ground.
