2. Jellied up for me

2054 Words
LEIA POV As expected, the drive to Dark Mist was stoic. We were very close to the border between Connecticut and Massachusetts. Pretty soon we will need to get off the highway and go offroad. Technically, it wasn’t really offroad, not anymore. So many people went camping, hiking, and exploring that many of the dirt roads that led deep into the woods were well known by humans and well kept. I spent most of the trip trying to think of what we could have done differently. Just because no one I know personally died doesn’t mean I’m not affected by what happened. It didn’t matter which pack was attacked or who was killed. Thirteen wolves died last night and for what? In honor of some froot loop that needs a lobotomy. To make matters worse, all the movement that was happening which led us to believe Golden Moon or Sol was going to be attacked stopped before we could get close to them. Poof, disappeared into thin air. None of Blue Moon's defenses did anything to stop them from getting in because they were using magic, more magic than one single witch could accomplish on her own. Several witches had aligned themselves with our enemy. We might have an advantage with our advanced technology, but they managed to get ahead of us when they allied themselves with witches. The council had an understanding with one coven and a few witches, nothing close to an alliance. The most they would do in battle is protect the packs and transport warriors. They don't fight alongside us. That will have to change very soon. In my head, each pack needs a Maeve. My parents, brothers and some of the elders agree. Some don’t like the idea of putting an alliance on paper with any group of witches. For the stupid reason that it’s never been done. Meanwhile, our enemies are teaming up with witches and kicking our asses. Some of these elders need to step down and give their spots to the future leaders. “Like whom? You?” Sian mocked. “I’m a Sergeant, doll. Not a Senior Master Sergeant like Luke, but I’m only missing the stinky Senior part and I’m happy with that. For now.” I won’t be outdone by my male twin brother, no way. We have a special bond, but that doesn’t diminish how competitive we are with one another. All our lives we’ve been interested in the same things, which means a lot of the time we were neck and neck competing for the top spot against one another. As we got older, he showed more interest in the slower, more tedious side of any good army. The team of brains that planned, strategized and came up with the master plans. The ones who received all the Intel and sent us, foot soldiers, out to do the fun part. For the first time, we didn't want the same thing because, while he was in his element behind the scenes driving several different moving parts. I liked being smack dab in the middle of the action. That's not to say that Luke didn't like a good fight, but he couldn't deny what he was good at. My twin the brain got lucky and went for a spot under Uncle Jerry, who was already building a team. My position didn’t even exist until it was given to me. The Senior Master position doesn’t either. As we create new teams and branches, positions open and wolves are salivating over them. I looked in the rearview and saw the four SUVs that followed us. Herc and I rode together, with him diving. Most of the supplies were in our vehicle, since it was just us two. The other SUVs each had six warriors in them, with one of them driving. “Dark Mist's new Alpha is barely twenty-four, just got back from training.” Herc spoke, breaking the silence. I turned to see him fighting a grin. “Don’t hate, old man, I’m two years younger than him and I’m your boss.” I didn’t suppress my grin and he side eyed me. “I’m not old.” He grumbled. “Well… twenty-nine isn’t old per say but you might need to start taking it easy. The knees are always the first to go.” I patted his shoulder and gave him a sympathetic smile before cracking up. “Ha ha. That’s what I get for trying to prepare you for the unavoidable show of dominance the new Alpha is going to give you.” Now he was grinning. It never failed. Although the level of doucheness always varied. Some weren’t even all that bad, a little sexy actually. Too bad they were all off limits, just like my warriors. It was also too bad that they were instantly intimidated by me and tried to undermine me. It must really bug them that a shewolf had to come in and straighten their s**t up. To tell them everything they’re doing wrong. They thought they could fight me the entire way, but all I had to do was hold my own against their Alpha’s. After the third Alpha, everyone cut the s**t and gave me the respect I deserve. That didn’t stop them from hating me, but I was okay with that. They could walk around pretending they could kick my ass all day. Didn’t change the fact that they bowed and called me Master Sargent. None of them wanted to risk challenging me. While I couldn’t take down a male Alpha, I gave them a good run for their money. “The way Alpha Ivan flew when you roundhouse kicked him.” Sian chortled. “That was funny.” I smiled. “I learned a new way to break a wolf's junk.” Herc made a strangled sound in his throat and I nearly choked with laughter when he almost drove off the road at my words. “What’s wrong with you? I didn’t say cut if off, just break it a little.” I scolded him playfully as I held on to the hand bar by my head. “That’s not right.” His voice sounded thick and strained… like my words had broken his junk. Herc was stiff and all his focus was on the road. “We’re wolves, it would heal in about a week.” I shrugged and he took a peek at me before looking back at the road. “You’re a little scary. It’s kind of hot.” Herc said and my mouth dropped open. “I mean… f**k, I shouldn’t have said that.” He shook his head and scratched the back of his neck. “It’s okay Herc. No one can resist my feminine wilds.” I wiggled my eyebrows and slid my hands over my fatigues. I joke, but I still think I look hot. Even with the jelly stain from my donut earlier. “Oh yes, every wolf likes a little snack while they hook up.” Sian chortled. “You joke but I’ve…” She growled, shutting me up. “I know… I was there… nasty ass.” She grumbled. The SUV turned down a dirt road and the others followed. “That shirt does it for me. I think it’s the jelly stain that looks like the swoosh sign just below your… peck… that um… yeah it does it for me.” He had started off so strong but when my n*****s tightened halfway through his attempt at embarrassing me, he fought to keep the car on the road as he stared at the n****e adorned with the jelly swoosh. Then the fabric of his pants tightened between his legs. I'm going to ignore why my n*****s got hard and focus on his horny behavior. Was he really that deprived? I’ve seen shewolfs throw themselves at my warriors and I seek no details from them, but again… locker room talk subjects me to their nasty stories. Male wolves seek me out too, but while I may not be a virgin… I am selective. “We should just wait for our mate.” Sian suggested for the millionth time. “I have body parts that need tending to.” I said simply, hoping she’d drop it. I wasn’t as desperate as Herc looked, at least I didn’t think so. Getting a hard at the sight of my hardened n****e that showcased today’s breakfast was a bit much. “How did you even get it there? It’s under…” He peeked at the stain once more. Trying to figure out how I got it on the underside of my breast. “What can I say, I can do some nasty stuff with a jelly donut.” I winked and he stared at my lips. Flirting with Herc was not uncommon, but the heated look he was giving me was a sign that I needed to tone it down. “That’s enough. We’re almost there, try not drive us into a tree.” I pulled my phone out and pretended to look through my emails. “Don’t want me lookin, don’t get all jellied up for me.” He grumbled but kept driving. That wolf is too much. It’s crazy to admit this, but having him by my side has made each visit to each pack and their snooty Alphas bearable. He even helped me teach them a lesson when needed. Sometimes I wanted to climb him like a tree, but I managed to resist and get some new batteries for my pleasure rocket instead. Herc and I work well together and the last thing I wanted to do is ruin that by using him to take out some aggression. The trees on either side of the car became denser the further we drove. It was a matter of minutes before we reached Dark Mist Pack’s border. Now I started to become anxious and even Sian was acting a little squirrely. I could feel her pacing around in my head somehow. “I just have a strange feeling.” She whispered, making me even more anxious. There were too many things to do to worry about my antsy wolf. I needed to get to a secure line and call… everyone. Commander Jordan, Luke, Alex, Adam… my parents. Then my team needed to be briefed on everything. On top of that s**t Sunday, there was the matter of Alpha Paul Stone. The new Alpha of Dark Mist who took over from his father, Daniel Stone, just a few weeks ago. I have high hopes that I won’t need to resort to any abrasive forms of persuasion to get my point across. I don’t need any bullshit from him or any of his cronies. For the past months I’ve had to put up with snarky comments and crude pick-up lines from so-called Alpha’s and high-ranking members. Even some warriors felt brave enough to disrespect me. There were no repeat offenders. I made sure of that. “He flew so high in the air.” Sian recalled Alpha Ivan’s unexpected trip again. “He landed on his ass pretty hard.” I recalled and chuckled out loud. Herc eyed me but his eyes were back on the dirt road quickly as a dozen men came into view. All big strapping werewolves in their human forms. They aren’t off limits… I think. The older blue-eyed one is definitely off limits. He could be my father. I don’t mind older men, but I also don’t have a thing for them. I can’t deny that he’s very good-looking with his blond hair and fair complexion. Based on his smug smile, he thinks he is the only attractive and strong wolf. Like that s**t wasn’t hard coded in his DNA. In all of our DNA. Herc turned the engine off and so did the other four vehicles. We dismounted and approached. When his eyes landed on me, he analyzed me before turning his nose up at me. The smug smile was still there, but now this asshole was looking down on me too. “We can’t have that.” Sian whispered evilly. “You’re right. Time for a little fun.” He he.
