The soldier fastened Carrie’s safety harness and double-checked it.
“One of us has to help investigate these tunnels,” Carrie replied. “Belinda’s busy being debriefed by Errruorerrrrrh and you’ve got enough on your plate supervising the Unity troops and liaising with the police and the armed forces. Besides, the Unity starships will be here soon. We won’t have time to think once they arrive. There’s going to be no denying the existence of aliens when Earth’s astronomers notice freaking great starships bearing down on us.”
