It was pitch dark and eerily silent. The floor was hard and cold enough to make Bella shiver, but no matter how much she struggled, Bella couldn't get herself to move or stand up. She was paralyzed from her shoulder down to her toes and her neck too stiff to twist around. She felt trapped. She swallowed and immediately regretted it because of the pain it caused to her throat.
