‘’I didn’t mean to hurt you; I was just so tired of being the cause of your pain. I needed to let you go to keep you safe’’ I try to explain myself but from the look on his face I know I am not selling my point. There is no coming back from this truth and at the end of this, I might lose him all over again.
‘’You broke up with me?’’ he is breathing heavily. A tear slides down to his cheeks and I want to reach for him and wipe it off. I don’t want to be the cause of his pain but that is exactly what I am doing.
‘’I didn’t break things off with you, your mother, she told me that it was for the best, she said she was going to hurt you more if I didn’t do what I did that night’’
