I left Austin alone with Bryan because I figured if anything, Brian might be able to make Austin smile. There’s just something about Bryan that you can’t help but like. Plus, I was afraid of what he might think when he saw me feeding Austin like a toddler.
When I got back into the room, Bryan was getting ready to leave. He turned to me and said, “Take good care of my boy.”
I nodded at him and said, “I will.”
Bryan smiled and said, “Good because he’s a really good man and doesn’t deserve to be in here. Not that I’m knocking your hospital or anything but he’s a good man.”
