Seth’s POV We waited by the steps anxiously awaiting Sofie’s return but when they pulled up and there was only one car my stomach immediately dropped. The sinking feeling dropped even lower as Siro hesitated to join us, obviously procrastinating what he had to tell us. Mum was in tatters after Siro finally spilled the beans, wrecked with worry about her little baby girl staying so far away, in a place we knew wasn’t safe for our kind. After Siro left dad nodded to Sam and I, letting us know we could go and that he would take care of her. I nodded back a weak smile, knowing he had hours of reassuring ahead of him.
