Aiden had been waiting impatiently for her as he recalled his last encounter. He wasn't sure if letting her go with Dylan was a good thing or not. He had known Dylan well enough but what if he tries to manipulate Sunny against him?
‘Why would he do that?’ Another part of him questioned.
He sighed and sunk deeper into his chair. His eyes roamed around the cafe where he had spent some beautiful moments of his life with Iris.
He felt someone’s presence. Looking up he saw his Iri- no Sunny smiling at him with an apologetic look.
“Thank you for waiting up for me. I wouldn’t have blamed if you decided to run away.” She smirked at him.
Alas! Only if she would have known him; he could stay here forever.
“I wouldn’t have decided to run off when I can actually drive.” Aiden replied casually.
Iris felt herself drowning in older ways; the more comfortable way.
“So, how’s it going with your exams?” He asked when they were done with the orders.
“What? You should know it better. A student’s marks and his exam preparation’s are forbidden subject for discussion.” Iris was really not in mood to talk about it.
Her frightful expression that looked dramatic to Aiden made him laugh. He couldn’t help but compare it with her Iris. She was the naughtiest girl he had met and Sunny looked a tiny bit like her.
“My bad! Anyways, tell me more about you.” Aiden asked her and Iris became self conscious.
“First thing first; I am poor at conversations. Why don’t you ask and I will reply as in exams?” She asked nervously to which Aiden nodded.
He wasn't going to judge her on that.
When they were done with the lunch, Aiden had learnt basics about her like she is Sunny Walker from Dallas and lives alone. She doesn’t have a family and it bothered him. The time he mentioned about it, her face fell and it was apparent that she doesn’t wants to talk about it. He felt guilty and skipped it to another questions.
Fortunately, she lives with her cousin every now and then who is more than a family to her.
“Do you mind if I ask you something?” Iris asked to which Aiden felt happy.
It was a sign that she was taking interest in him.
“If I remember clearly, you said your fiancé looked like me then who was the other woman that day at the bar?” She asked with indifference.
Aiden’s mouth went dry. He suddenly became angry with that thought alone but he pushed the thoughts away and stared blankly at the space ahead.
“Why don’t you ask me yourself?” That irritating sound made him flinch again.
Both were startled at first before they turned to look at the front and saw the beautiful woman smiling sweetly and walking towards them.
“Hi I am Evelyn. Evelyn Reider. As you already know I am Aiden’s friend and hopefully soon to be fiancée.” She said in a seductive tone that irked Iris up.
‘How dare she call him as hers?’
“Hi Evelyn, I am-” Iris shook hands with her but Evelyn didn’t let her finish her sentence.
“It doesn’t matter anyways, I am glad to have officially met you because I know Aiden can be a p***y at times-” Evelyn started rattling but Iris couldn’t take it.
She cannot let her own sister insult her and especially when she doesn’t behave as one.
“I hope I could have said the same for you. Now, if you may excuse us we have something important to settle.” Iris ignored Evelyn and grabbed Aiden’s arm before pulling him to his car.
She neglected the excitement and the sudden heart race with the touch and pretended to be unfazed.
Aiden was shocked but glad to have escaped the ugly encounter. He hurriedly took his place and drove away leaving behind a furious Evelyn.
She dialed a number and barked some orders to the person on the other hand.
“Woah! That was something.” Aiden breathed as a small smile played at the corners of his mouth.
“She was acting like a b***h and I don’t take crap from trash people.” Iris shrugged as she fumed in anger.
Aiden was stunned to hear her talk like that but ended up laughing.
“Guess? It was a first for her. I bet she had already put you in her blacklist now.” Aiden chuckled.
‘Well, she already did long back.’ Iris wondered but didn’t say anything.
“Where do you want to go?” Aiden couldn’t help but ask.
“Can we stop for an ice-cream or something?” Iris asked.
She wasn't interested in eating anything but she wanted a distraction.
“As you wish.” Aiden was more than happy to oblige.
After all she saved him from Evelyn.
When the car pulled aside, Aiden walked out to buy two ice-creams as Iris stepped out as well.
She stood beside the sidewalk and stretched a little when she heard a commotion behind her. Being attentive, she glanced back to see few up-tight looking sturdy men covered all in black were rushing in her direction.
She searched for Aiden and saw him standing at a good distance from her. She contemplated to run up to him or hide somewhere near. The men approached her closer as she took quick strides towards Aiden.
Her little legs weren’t long enough to reach him quickly. Her strides turned into jogging and now she was running when she suddenly felt a strong arm held her and pulling her back.
She was about to scream for help but another palm covered her mouth as someone lifted her up like she weighed nothing.
She was now kicking the men with whatever strength she had. She was terrified and was about to cry. Her heart sinking with each step the men took. She hoped someone saw them but she couldn’t just stay with that hope.
Not Again!
When she felt the men lower her body to shove her inside their car; she stuck her leg out and hindered the door. The men were growing impatient. They weren’t used to treat people nicely when they were meant to ‘kidnap’ them.
Iris knew the danger but it was better this way than ending up somewhere she doesn’t even have idea about. She screamed as her muffled cries started getting stronger.
The man tugged her hair back forcefully making her wince but in return she bit his palm. Although, it didn’t affect him much but surely took him by surprise.
On the other hand, Aiden paid to the vendor and turned but couldn’t see Sunny around. Thinking she was already inside the car, he started approaching it but then heard some shuffling.
He ignored and walked but then heard someone groan as if in pain. His eyes lifted and searched around him. Looking carefully, he could see few heads at a distance and seemed like someone needed help. He rushed to the car and searching inside he couldn’t find Sunny.
The first thought that occurred to him was, ‘Did she just leave?’
He felt angry not knowing why and threw away the ice-creams before running to the direction he heard the sounds from.
Iris was weakening now. The pressure the men built on her was making her exhausted. She wasn't sure how long she was about to last against them.
She was ferociously pushed inside and in the process, her leg that was hung outside strained. A loud scream escaped her mouth as the other one rushed inside beside her. The second man was still trying to shove her leg inside while the third was cursing behind the wheel.
“Hey, what’s going on here?” The sudden voice stupefied them.
Iris eyes widened at the recognition as she tried to yell to grab Aiden’s attention. The driver closed the door shut and ready to drove but the man was still struggling with her legs.
Iris kicked him mercilessly now feeling energetic and it was now when Aiden realized that someone was trying to attempt kidnapping.
His eyes bulged out when he saw the red converse and the muffled voice that was so clear to him. He ran towards the car and caught the man before turning him over and punching him.
The driver started the engine as Aiden held the door and fought with the steering wheel. Someone must have seen the whole scenario by now as a sheriff’s car could be heard coming.
The men fled from there and were arrested as Aiden tried to pull Iris out. She was wincing in pain and was scared as hell.
She was not going to show it to him though but she really needed to be alone.
“Hold on to me okay? You are fine. Everything’s okay.” Aiden could see her grave look and he tried to soothe her.
Iris tried nodding that she was fine but Aiden wouldn’t leave her. He was thankful to have seen her in time and saved her. He convinced her to go to a doctor and instructed his detectives to find whoever was behind this.
He was sure it must be ‘Evelyn’ considering the encounter that took place earlier but he still needed some solid proofs.

“Thank you again.” Iris smiled as she lay in the most restricted VIP ward of the hospital.
Aiden beamed at her.
“Don't make it a habit.” He replied smugly to which Iris laughed wryly.
“Oh what did I miss?” Evelyn emerged beside them and it unleashed Iris’ composure.
‘She shouldn’t be here. It wasn't good for her plan.’ Iris wondered.
Chuckling lowly, Iris grabbed everyone’s attention.
“You know what? Forget he could be yours at least in this life.” She pointed Evelyn.
“What the hell-” Evelyn was stunned.
“Let me finish first. Why do you make it a habit of following him like a lost puppy? No one gives a damn to some crazy desperate bitch.” Iris shrugged.
Evelyn wanted to scratch her face but it was a bitter truth. She realized that it was indeed what she had been doing. Feeling loss at words; she huffed and left.
Iris was relieved.
“She definitely is something huh.” Iris commented that relaxed Aiden.
“Anyways I should go now, my cousin must be worried.” Iris tried to stand but wailed in pain.
Aiden rushed to her and help her steady.
“I will take you there and I don’t want any discussion.” Aiden gave a stern look.
Iris smiled and nodded. She was happy that it was working.
Aiden called out the nurse and asked her to prepare for discharge. He signed the papers and followed Iris who was in the wheelchair.
He was wondering about her condition. The doctor said she was weak and she even looked shaken which bothered him to some extent.
Not that he was more interested in her than Iris but something about her genuinely interested him. Maybe just for the sake of humanity, he wanted to help her.
They stood at the parking lot when Aiden pulled her closer to help her get into his car. The sudden emotions surged past them; Aiden ignored it feeling uneasy while Iris avoided it because she wasn't going back in the past anymore.
