“How are you feeling now?” Aiden pulled Iris closer while frowning at Derek whose jaw clenched at this site.
“Uh… Good!” She averted her gaze from the two men.
“The officer would be here today; needs some statement so let’s get ready.” Derek announced while serving her breakfast.
“Who was it?” Aiden asked with a stoic expression.
Iris seemed to fidget in her seat. She turned a deaf ear to them and continued munching her food. The other two seemed to have understood the hidden meaning and left it for the officers to get the truth out.
She had just showered and changed into her favorite denim jacket and jeans with white tee as she descended down the stairs hopping on it. She had her plan devised and was excited to see how it would turn. Just as she reached the last steps, she halted hearing some tension ahead.
“I told you I had nothing to do with it. I didn’t even know what had happened here before you just threatened me for nothing.”
Iris slowly made her way to see Evelyn glaring at Derek and Aiden trying to prove her point. She stood there smirking at her plan. Pretending to have just come, Iris stopped and saw around her eyes widening at Evelyn.
“Sunny…” Evelyn faked a smile seeing her but the coldness in her voice was easily detected by Iris.
She saw as Evelyn made her way towards her and sneaked her arm around her shoulder and pinching her waist.
“Where were you? They thought it was me behind your missing. Why don’t you clear it?” Evelyn twisted and turned her skin between her fingers while glaring at her gesturing to do as said.
Iris wanted to slap her hard but breathed deeply as she averted her gaze from Evelyn to Aiden and looked scared. She was constantly trying to escape her hold which was noticed by the two men.
“I… uh… I don’t know who was behind it.” Iris spoke in a whisper as she glanced at Evelyn and it appeared like she was stealing glances at her.
“Why are you forcing her Evelyn? What do you want to prove here?” Aiden questioned her which surprised her.
“I ain’t forcing anyone… I just want to tell you guys that it wasn’t me. I don’t have time for such things.” Evelyn looked perplexed.
Derek sighed in frustration. He didn’t want any drama right now but the way Sunny looked scared of Evelyn was something not to be forgotten.
The officer came in and interrupted them. He took Iris away and questioned but she kept glancing at Evelyn and gulped hard. Even the officer traced her look and nodded.
“I am sorry; she hadn’t revealed any name yet but she say she was picked from the Greenwich street. Do you have any idea who lives there?” He asked them as Evelyn’s eyes bulged out.
As far as she remembered, she sent her bodyguard to drop Iris few blocks away from Derek’s mansion then how was she found in her locality? She stared at Iris who smirked at her.
“Greenwich? Are you sure about it officer?” Derek asked through gritted teeth as he glowered at Evelyn.
“Definitely! She was unconscious and had bruises on her body like what you must have seen yourselves.” The officer detailed as he handed them her photos when she was picked up by the patrolling car.
Aiden saw there was a piece of fabric in her hand as he requested officer brown to provide him with it. The officer pulled out a plastic poly containing few items in it. There was a piece of jewelry and a piece of wallpaper which was familiar to him as he gripped them with anger.
“Excuse me but I would be needing that.” The officer took them away and waited if they could tell about any suspects.
“Thank you so much officer. We really appreciate your help but we already know who the kidnapper was.” Derek informed him.
All he wanted was to send him away so he could do what he wanted to Evelyn. Evelyn tensed hearing that. She couldn’t believe her eyes though. How was Sunny able to collect them as she tried to recall hard.
It was clear that when she had signed the document; Sunny had fallen on her hand and paper losing her conscience. She even felt a tug but wasn’t bothered to check what happened back then. She stared at her bracelet and saw its one leaf patterned-ring missing from the set of five. Her throat tightened with fear.
There was no way she could escape it.
Iris wanted to laugh out loud at her expressions. She loved watching her cornered by the two handsome guys Evelyn loved so much. She just wanted to convey her that she wouldn’t be used under her family’s name; not twice atleast.
“Who’s that?” The officer asked feeling intrigued.
“We will handle it on our own officer. Thanks again for the help.” Derek said in a dismissing tone.
The officer looked back at Iris who nodded her head in agreement and smiled when he left.
“What do have to say about it, Evelyn?” Aiden asked.
He didn’t care if she was a woman, he could kill her right now.
“I… there must be some misunderstanding here. It wasn’t me.” Evelyn baffled.
“We never said it was you… we just asked for your suggestion.” Aiden smirked at her taking steps closer to her.
Evelyn was backing away with each step and searching around to find an escape. She thought Derek was the most dangerous man but seeing him this way with coldness in his eyes and voice but smile on his face; he looked insane.
“Ask Sunny. She will tell you, it wasn’t me.” Evelyn didn’t care about anything now.
She just remembered them signing a deal which she was thankful of knowing well that Sunny couldn’t disclose anything to anyone.
“Tell me Cara Mia and the truth. I hope I don’t have to threaten you with the most beloved people of yours in order to find it.” Derek gave her an ‘I won’t take a s**t right now’ look.
Iris gulped hard as she apologetic glanced at Evelyn.
“It was her. She kidnapped me and threatened me with my family to sign up a NDA.” Iris didn’t make any eye contact as she told them how Evelyn treated her.
“She is lying!!!” Evelyn interrupted as she closed the distance between her and Iris.
“I am not lying…” Iris looked at her in disbelief. “Here… see this.”
She clicked something in her phone as she handed it to Derek; the screen displayed the NDA with the details clearly mentioned on it.
Evelyn felt her mouth go dry and it was hard for her to take. She waited for Derek to respond but felt a tingling pain on her cheek which she cupped with her palm staring blankly at the space ahead.
The echo of the slap still ringing in her ears; she turned and saw Aiden glaring at her.
He charged towards her gripped her throat deciding it was now or never. Iris’ eyes ready to pop out of her socket as she ran towards him and pulled him back. He didn’t even budge from his place but now she was wrapping her hands around his waist trying to pull him away from her.
The electricity passed through his body making him halt his actions. Slowly he traced her hands and felt the way her warm body was pressed against him; his nerves alerted in all the wrong places.
Evelyn sized this opportunity and ran away. She could take her revenge later but right now it was better to run from here.
Derek saw the two and felt uneasy but focused on Evelyn. He called his bodyguard and instructed him to take care of Evelyn in the deserving manner.

Iris lay on her bed smiling widely appreciating her acting skills. She had discovered recently that she could win an Oscar for it. She was damn good actress. There was no fainting but her pretence all these time and the way she managed to vex up the guys from her vulnerable look was really a good go.
She whistled feeling victorious but then she remembered about the meeting. She needed to win Derek’s trust in order to join this meeting. There was a knock at the door and she opened it to find Aiden standing there.
"Here is an ice-pack for your bruises."
She stared at him. It totally slipped her mind to nurse it but then Aiden remembered it and was here to take care of his Iris.
Iris nodded and let him in before sitting on her bed. Aiden was slow but with utmost care started giving her cold compression.
“You knew I was there for help right?” Aiden said to which she felt confused.
“When Evelyn was threatening you, why you didn’t tell me? When will you learn that I am here for you?” Aiden said in weary voice.
“You weren’t there at that time.” Iris replied not wanting to give him her piece of mind.
“But there were other ways too. You should be confident that I won’t let anything happen to you.” Aiden cooed which angered her.
“Why? Why do you feel that way Aiden? If that was true then what happened to your fiancée? Where is she? Why was she killed by Evelyn? Tell me.” Iris spat at him.
“How do you know?” he narrowed his eyes at her.
“That doesn’t matter now what matters is this… you can’t promise me something that you can’t fulfill.” She sneered.
“Iris I am sorry. I won’t let it happen again. I had my own reasons.” He mumbled the last part to himself.
“How many times do I have to tell you that I AM NOT IRIS?” She yelled at him as his shoulders slumped in exhaustion.
He stared at her for long.
“I know Iris. I know it’s you…” He replied as she gaped at him.
