Chapter 21

Evelyn was fuming with anger. She had heard about that b***h staying with Aiden from his parents and Derek wanting her to stay with him. She couldn’t take it. How dare she try and replace her.

She waited for Sunny to walk out and when she was alone, Evelyn bumped their car multiple times. Sunny was shocked and feared the worst. She cursed and pulled her car alongside the road. Evelyn sized this opportunity and crashed her car once again making Sunny’s car fly off the road.

Sunny’s eyes widened as she tried to calm her racing heart. She stared in disbelief at the blonde who exited her car and walked towards her in utter disappointment.

Evelyn grabbed her hair and pulled her face closer.

“f*****g w***e, I know what you are upto. You want to replace Iris and me huh?” Evelyn jerked her head repeatedly.

“You think you can easily win over the two business tycoon but sadly you are wrong. They don’t fall for a slut like you who is ready to offer herself in exchange of gold.” Evelyn shouted in her ear and pushed her away.

Sunny hit the over-rail wincing in pain. She snapped her head in Evelyn’s direction and ran to her. Sunny slapped her hard across her face and took her by surprise.

“Don't you f*****g dare to touch me again!” she seethed at Evelyn.

Before Evelyn could react, Sunny pulled her hair and slapped her thrice with force more than the previous one. Evelyn’s face bruised up as her left cheek swelled with the impact.

“As for your concern, I ain’t interested in both the guys but as far as I know, neither are they in you so why don’t you f*****g put your w***e of a face away from them?” Sunny wanted to punch her pretty face till it was unrecognizable.

She pulled herself away and saw Evelyn crying.

“I thought I agreed to help you in getting Aiden but looks like you can’t f**k wait! So, now die wailing for his attention.” She said in disgust.

“Wait! As per my information, you already have a boyfriend and still aiming for other then isn’t it correct that it is you being a w***e of a woman.” Sunny yelled at her.

She couldn’t believe it was her sister. It was her elder sister she had always looked up to. No matter, what she was troubled with; her sister used to be her ideal but looking at her real self, she felt disgusted considering her as an ideal.

“You b***h! Don’t you think that I will just let it pass easily.” Evelyn charged towards her and was about to hit but it never happened.

Iris opened her eyes to see Derek standing behind Evelyn, holding her wrist.

Evelyn turned around and sobbed hard crashing into his chest. He seemed unmoved as Iris studied them closely. Her heart fluttered lightly seeing him save her like he used to earlier.

“Derek! This bitch... I hate her. Teach her a lesson for hitting me. See what she done to my pretty face.” Evelyn complained like a spoiled brat.

Iris rolled her eyes which Derek noticed but when he saw the swollen face of Evelyn, he was shocked. He wanted to laugh but didn’t.

“Honey, say something please? I want you to teach her a lesson.” Evelyn was practically clinging to him.

Iris couldn’t believe her eyes and ears. She glanced at Derek and then Evelyn and back to Derek.

“Honey?” She muttered to herself.

The other two heard her and Derek rapidly pushed Evelyn away. Evelyn on the other hand was surprised to see him behave this way and fear gripped her heart.

‘Is she going to lose him now? Has this b***h wooed him already?’ She wondered.

“Yes honey. What do you expect me to call my boyfriend then?” Evelyn smirked as Iris face fell.

For Evelyn, it felt like a victory but for Derek it felt like losing. He thought it has ruined his chance while for Iris it was the most ridiculous thing to watch her own sister and her cousin sharing a relationship.

‘How long has it been this way? Was it like that before?’ She thought.

“I know everything that happened here Evelyn and I didn’t expect you to pull such stupid stunt. You could have killed her.” Derek yelled in frustration making her eyes wide like saucers.

“But I—” Evelyn felt ridiculed in front of her enemy.

“Enough! I don’t want any explanation. Sunny, come here.” Derek’s eyes softened while looking at Sunny and Evelyn couldn’t help but notice it.

How she wished to see him behave this way to her but looks like she was beating around the bush.

When Sunny made no attempts to follow him, he hauled her to his car and took her to the nearest mall.

Iris scowled sitting there; in no way she was going to follow him as per his wishes. She sulked deeper in the seat as Derek shook his head and exited it but locking it so she couldn’t escape.

Iris grew furious and she literally kicked his car repeatedly.

“Asshole!” she muttered and tried to digest the new information.

Her sister and cousin were... together?

‘Yewww...’

As she grew tired sitting idly, she fished her phone out and waited for answer from the other end.

“What took you so long to answer me?” She almost yelled.

“Easy, angry lady! I was helping at the cafe. Are you alright?” Erik asked to which she sighed.

“Yeah I am good. I was just worried seeing those men ready to wait to attack you.” Iris massaged her head.

“That man did exaggerate it. I lead him to us but never thought he would literally send an army to use us as bait. No doubt, he is powerful Iris.” Erik’s disbelief clearly heard from his voice.

“Yea I know. I was half expecting him to drag you here or something but never this! Anyways, I actually signed it and let’s hope rest things fall according to us and not him.” Iris said with a strained voice.

She really felt exhausted with all that mental pressure since morning and she wondered when her life became this hard.

“You have to be more cautious now as Linda won’t be able to make it back in time. Her father needed her so... Just be careful.” Erik told her before hanging up.

As she laid her head back and tried to relax; the trunk lid opened and someone shoved immense packets inside it, disturbing her sleep.

The driver’s side opened and Derek came without any word and started driving.

“Can you drop me at the next roundabout?” She asked hesitatingly.

“Why?” Derek was surprised to hear her request.

Iris shrugged not wanting to give him any answer. He glanced at her side-wards and saw her arm being bruised. He felt anger rising inside him. Evelyn needed to learn her lesson.

He decidedly dropped her and left. He can ask someone to look at her as always and when he reached his old apartment; he found Evelyn resting on the couch with her legs raised on the backrest.

She had a face-pack on and eyes closed to which he felt annoyed. As he reached her, he grabbed her wrist and forcefully made her stand; in the process she lost her balance.

“What the f**k is your problem Evelyn? You dared attack that girl Sunny? Why for f**k’s sake have you done that? Don’t you know she is a key to my success?” He seethed at her.

Such coldness made Evelyn fear him. She knew he is a devil and it was never good to anger him.

“I-I uh…” She stumbled on her words. How could she explain her jealousy?

Derek tsked at her and glared.

“Cat got your tongue or you just realized it huh?” He looked at her with disdain.

“I am sorry.  I won’t do it again.” She said with a cracked voice. Tears streamed down her face.

Even though they were together now for five months, but he had always been indifferent to her. It is like he never understood her and doesn’t even want to understand her. She had always felt an attraction to him but since he was unreachable, she started falling for Aiden.

Aiden on the other hand loved Iris and when he talked about this to her parents, she could feel her heart break. She hated Iris more now. It was unclear as to why guys liked her when she was more beautiful than Iris. Iris was less in everything; height, complexion, figure, style, grace; name anything and she was always second or third or maybe fourth as compared to her yet guys seemed to be drawn to Iris.

Since her childhood, her parents seemed proud of Iris. She doesn’t f*****g have a clue about why?

Iris was just an intelligent child and extraordinarily talented. She was quick learner but else than that she was a nuisance. Always upto some pranks or games like a f*****g kid. People thought she was cool. She behaved so un-lady like and it sometimes annoyed Evelyn so much that she failed to acknowledge that Iris was her sister.

Evelyn just admired her at few times when Iris helped her. It wasn’t new for Iris anyways as she had a habit of helping everyone. She personally thought Iris was a fool to help everyone because not everyone was grateful to have her help. Some even used her and befriended her just because she could be easily manipulated and that she had tried hard to make Iris understand but as stubborn as always, she didn’t heed her advice.

Whatever!

Evelyn tried to move on with her life but she had fallen hard for Aiden and that is why she manipulated Derek. Apparently it was easy as she watched Derek become uncomfortable with Aiden and Iris’s closeness. It was a golden chance and she manipulated Derek and formed this plan where she wanted to eradicate her forever. With Iris gone, her assets would automatically fall under her name and she could win over Aiden easily.

Never did she think that things weren’t as easy as it sounded. When she stabbed Iris, she couldn’t forget the look on Derek’s face which was weird. She tried her best to woo Aiden but the sudden change in him made her wonder if he really was that Aiden she fell for?

She is trying till today but Aiden have his eyes only for Iris or now for this girl Sunny. She needed power and money which only her cousin could provide if not Aiden. When she saw Derek falling apart, she became his support and practically helped him to cope with the guilt she knew he was feeling. It was then she seduced him and they became a couple.

However, she knew her limits. She can never behave like an actual girlfriend with Derek because his heart is closed and she wonders for whom.

Right now, she has a boyfriend and one love-interest but still she is alone. She knows the fact that both her men genuinely cared for her sister and that is another reason she hated her even more.

With the same facial features; Sunny is her rival and there might be a possibility that sooner or later, Evelyn will have to give up on everything as Sunny would replace her in all spheres of her life.

‘I can’t let it happen. No!’ Evelyn was now determinant.
