The night turned to the early hours of the morning. I still couldn’t get a hold of Lauren on her phone and I had searched for her everywhere. The office, her mums, her dorm, the apartment and I even tried my house. I couldn’t find her anywhere. I had one more place I could try and that was where we found her last time.
I pulled up outside the abandoned garage that he had held her in before hand. It was just a garage with a bathroom in it. I burst through the door and called out for Lauren but it was empty. I checked the bathroom but again it was bare and lifeless. I could feel the anger get the better of me and I needed to unleash it. Lauren is going to get seriously punished this time. Simon called me and I picked it up.
“Joe! I think we might have him”.
**Lauren’s POV**
I took in a deep breath as I looked up at the grimy block of abandoned flats. The sky was beginning to light up as the daylight began to break. I locked the car door and leant against it. I was so frightened! He nearly took advantage of me last time and now I was putting myself into the same situation. I walked up to the front door and then grabbed my phone. I sent my location to Joe before pressing the intercom. I heard him pick up but he said nothing.
“Grey? It’s me” I quivered and there was a crackle before the door moved and buzzed. I pushed it open and was hit by the ice cold air that raised the hairs on the back of my neck. Even the atmosphere in here felt evil, the stairs were plain concrete and they wound up to the top of the building. As I put my foot on the first step my breathing began to change. I just couldn’t catch my breath. Keep going Lauren, Molly needs you. I gave myself a pep talk until I reached the top step. I turned towards the only door on this floor and walked up to it.
The fear was unbearable and I reached my hand to the door to knock but before I could the crack of it had opened slightly. I pushed it slowly and peered round to see a dark hallway with a door on each side and one wide open in front. I crept in and noticed feet with white trainers that looked to be scuffed and I walked a bit faster. I kept checking around to see where Grey was but I couldn’t see him anywhere. As the figure came into view I saw it was Molly tied to a chair with a gag wrapped around her mouth.
I gasped and rushed towards her. Her hair was scuffed around the gag and she had make up all down her face from crying. “Mol!” I whispered and untied the gag.
“Lauren, no, you need to go...”
“Shhh” I interrupted untying her legs from the the chair. “Oh Molly, I’m so sorry” I struggled at the knot on her right leg and heard foot steps behind me which made me jump back and turn to find Grey standing there. He was smiling at me with his arms folded.
“I knew you would come” he said not moving.
“Please Grey, just let Molly leave and I promise I won’t try to run” I lied trying to get Molly out of here. He slowly walked towards me and squatted down. He took a piece of my hair and tucked it behind my ear and I flinched.
“I missed you” he ignored me and grabbed my arms to stand me up.
“Please Grey...” I begged and he shushed me whilst placing his finger to my lips.
“I can’t let anyone come between us again, if I let her go then she might tell people where we are”.
“No Grey, I won’t, I swear! Just please...” Molly pleaded and Grey turned to her in anger. He slapped her around the face and she yelped in pain. “Shut up you stupid little w***e, your not going anywhere”. I panicked and tried to think of different scenarios in my head of how I should play this out. He seemed to really dislike anyone getting close to me and trying to stop him. Maybe if I pretended to play along then I could get her out of this.
“Grey” I said grabbing his hand softly. He turned to me in shock.
“Please, I want us to have a bit of privacy” I said gently stepping closer to him. His expression softened and he put his hand on my waist.
“Just you and me, I don’t want an audience” I leaned in closer to him and he smiled.
“Your right” he walked over to the table that was behind us and picked up a knife. My heart sank as he walked towards her.
“We can’t have privacy with you here” he went to lunge at her and she flinched, letting out a muffled scream.
“No!” I grabbed his arm quickly and held his face to get him to look at me.
“I... I just meant that I wanted to go into another room” I took the knife from him slowly and he looked at me with concern. I shut my eyes and held my breath. I placed my lips to his and kissed him as passionately as I could. I then reached back and placed the knife into Molly’s hand that was tied to the arm of the chair. I had to make sure he didn’t see and I continued to kiss him pushing him towards one of the closed doors. He seemed to have lost himself completely in this moment and he opened the door and stepped backwards to enter. I stepped in making sure that we were still connected with our lips and shut the door behind me. He pulled away and said “why the change of heart?”
I had to think of something believable. “Grey, you think I would have any friends left if they knew I came back to you earlier, I would have been alone. But...” I started to kiss his neck to try and loosen the tension that was building inside of him.
“I realised I don’t need anyone else, you went through all of this trouble for me” he placed his hand on my neck and kissed my shoulder.
“We only need each other” I lied and he leant back to look into my eyes.
“That’s all I have ever wanted to hear you say” he said and kissed me harder.
After a few more minutes there was a rustling noise coming from outside the door and I realised it was Moly scrambling towards the door to freedom. Grey’s head snapped towards the sound.
“What was that?” He asked.
“Uh... oh... it’s probably just Molly still trying to break free” I laughed nervously.
“Stupid b***h” I pulled his face to kiss him and he grabbed my wrists.
“I’ll be right back” he said not taking his attention off the door. s**t, what now?
He walked towards the door and placed his hand on the handle. “Grey, baby, leave her, I want you now” I tried to distract him once more but he turned to me with suspicion filling his eyes.
“I’ll be back in a minute” he repeated and turned the handle then disappeared down the hallway. I was panicking. I heard him grunt with frustration and he stormed back into the room.
“Where is she Lauren!” He looked so angry and I was terrified.
