Chapter Five “I came here to explain,” Mariel said, as she entered the studio office where her future brother-in-law worked and slept. She peered around at the lovely room. Though cluttered with files, papers, books and the remains of takeout food, beneath the mess was a quaint room with dark hardwoods and cream-colored walls, generously decorated with black and white prints of Jack at work. “Explain yourself?
