"What the f**k?!" Jungkook exclaimed at the fuming Lisa. But instead of answering him, the gray-haired girl walked pass him. But he wasn't having it. "Surely you have a good reason for hitting me, Lalisa Kim."
"I don't have to," she hissed removing his hand from her arm. "Those pictures you sent out were good enough. But joke's on you. I don't give a damn whether you ruin my reputation or what. By all means, tell those reporter friends of yours that I've had s*x with you. You'd get more money out of it, believe me."
"What the f**k are you even talking about?"
Lisa snarled. "Don't play innocent on me, Jeon. You're the only one who had those pictures. You even blackmailed me with them."
"The pictures?" He asked. "You took my phone, Lisa. I don't even have copies of it."
"And you expect me to believe that?" She folded her arms over her chest. "Who blackmails someone with pictures and doesn't make multiple copies? Come on. Lie better. You're a professional."
"I didn't send them," he insisted. "I know you broke up with him so what use would those photos be to me?"
Lisa composed herself before turning back to Jungkook. "Whatever. You did me a favor. Maybe this can finally earn me a ticket out of this godforsaken family—"
"Lisa."
She froze. Judging by the tone, the head of household seemed fairly calm. And that was scarier. That meant she had something thought out. That meant she's so pissed that she herself did something to smoothen out the mess those pictures created.
Slowly, Lisa faced her grandmother.
"It was photoshopped," she blurted out earning a raised eyebrow from Chairman Kim. Inside her mind, she scolded herself. The shock short-circuited her brain.
"I heard you two aren't together anymore so it would be no use if I fire Secretary Min," the elder woman said. "Setting aside his poor taste in women, he's excellent at his job and he's the only functioning brain in YK at the moment."
"Yes," she answered back as she quickly recovered from shock. "He does have poor taste in women because he dumped the most perfect girl—me."
The chairwoman ignored her clap back and handed her a small envelope.
"Be sure to attend the YK Charity Gala," she said before passing her. Then she stopped and eyed Jungkook. "Bring this man along. I don't want you bringing one of the Jungs as your date."
And then she entered Jin's study.
"Wow. Now I'm sure you're not adopted," Jungkook commented making Lisa roll her eyes and leave. "So I'm guessing I need to find myself a good suit?"
"The photo was shot from a different angle, Lis," Hoseok said as he pointed towards the laptop screen displaying her rather intimate moment with Yoongi. "And it looks like this was shot with a professional camera. Not like the ones I deleted from the phone you gave me."
Lisa bit her nail. If it wasn't Jungkook, who did? Was she followed?
"We were careful, Hobi. And we're basically unknown in New York so it's impossible for those paparazzi to take these."
"Then we're at a dead end," he said. "If I was a different person, I'd say it's from a rival company. But you're not in YK anymore. You're in JH. So whatever scandal you get involved in, JH gets affected."
She heaved a sigh. Hoseok leaned on the backrest of the chair.
"This isn't a big deal, Li," he said pointing at the image. "You're a young, attractive, single lady. You can date whoever you want. And Yoongi's a fine man. Smart, handsome, a little on the pale side but it's nothing a little make-up can't fix."
"We're not together."
"Then what are you two? Friends with benefits?"
She sighed. "He dumped me."
Hoseok's head almost snapped as he turned to face her. "What?! He... dumped you?"
"Well, we're not exactly together together but, you get the point," she muttered. "He said we should just stop everything and said I was basically a cold, manipulative b***h—"
"You forgot the pain in the ass part."
Two heads turn towards the door.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Lisa blurted out.
"Uhh... who is he?" Hoseok asked.
"Jeon Jungkook," the guy answered smiling.
"Uhh... nice to meet you?"
Lisa rolled her eyes as she unfolded her arms. "It's bad enough that you have to bug me at home but you come here at work too?"
Instead of getting offended, he just shrugged.
"Sorry baby, I just can't get enough of you," he said then winked.
Two things. One, he was made for that black leather jacket. And two, if she wasn't pissed at him, she probably would've swooned.
Oh right, she's not pissed at him. At least not anymore.
On the other hand, Hoseok had his hand on his own mouth shocked by the scene in front of him.
"Omo. I think I just found my OTP," he mumbled as he stood up from his seat. "I'll be going first since I have a lunch meeting with some potential investors. Have fun on your date, Li."
"He's not—ugh!"
Lisa glared at Jungkook as Hoseok ignored her last statement before stepping out of her office. Jungkook snickered.
"What are you so amused about?"
"You look really sexy when you're angry," he said making Lisa let out a frustrated grunt. He chuckled.
"I'm not in the mood to talk with you, Jeon," she spat walking towards her seat. "So if you can just find your way to the door, it would be a huge favor. Good bye."
But instead of leaving, a smirking Jungkook followed her and caged her in her seat. The guy was leaning in too close for comfort.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Lisa blurted out sounding harsh and disgusted to hide the sudden change of her heart's beating.
"You changed your lip color," he said smiling. "I love your signature red lips but this... this is f*****g illegal."
"What?"
She was wearing a bloody red lip color with a touch of plum. And he was right. It's a new color she bought just days ago.
He pulled her up and sat on the chair instead. Then pulled her back towards him—Lisa landing on his lap. Her eyes grew wide when she felt something.
"See?" Jungkook said. "That lip shade is stirring up things inside me. It should be illegal."
Lisa immediately pushed herself off his grasp.
"You p*****t!" She exclaimed with her cheeks turning crimson.
"I'm just admiring you beauty, honey," he explained. "And I'm a normal, hormonal man. And don't worry. You're the only person who can do this to me."
Again, he pulled her back to sit on his lap. He leaned closer to her ears.
"I know who sent the tip to the press."
Lisa immediately turn to him. Fire in her eyes.
"Who?"
Jungkook grinned.
"I'll tell you if you do something for me first."
Jisoo felt a little bit nauseous. Why? Because the grand ballroom made her dizzy. All the million's worth of decoration, the exquisite menu and important people made her claustrophobic. She felt a hand snake through her waist.
"You okay?" Jin asked. She simple smiled and nodded.
She had to act that way. A submissive woman to support a man with an ego as big as his company. The way of a courtesan is to fit the role of a man's ideal woman to win his heart. And so far, she's playing it flawlessly.
But to what extent?
Jin excused himself as a big business partner cam to their line of sight. Again, she just nodded and let him.
Sometimes it's hard to stay in character especially with Jin's sister Lisa around. But she was able to take care of that since Jin's basically wrapped around her finger. Even if she tells him to kill himself, he would.
But she won't. Why? Because Jungkook was right. She fell for her victim. Helplessly.
She heaved a sigh.
"Well that was deep."
Jisoo jumped at the sudden words from a feminine voice. Lalisa Kim in a black fitted gown. It suited her well. She had this "Black Widow" all over her with the auburn hair. Did she dye it just today?
"Since my big brother is busy, can I have a word with you?"
She blinked. Then nodded.
The girl in a white flowy gown walked next to the tall red head towards the veranda. It was empty.
"You're not gonna murder me, are you?"
Lisa shrugged. "Where's the fun in that? I like torturing my victims before killing them off."
This woman is really something.
"Tell me, Jeon Jisoo," she said looking over the view of the city. "Why my brother?"
"Huh? What do you mean?"
Lisa turned to Jisoo smirking.
"Why Kim Seokjin out of all the eligible bachelors of South Korea?" she cleared. "Why settle for him?"
"I didn't settle for him," she answered. "I love him. And there's nothing you can do to stop our wedding—"
"How about I give you 200 million won," she said straight. "200 million won in exchange for my brother. Take it or leave it?"
"Lisa-ssi," she said as she raised her head. "I will forget I heard that from you seeing how damaged your relationship is with your brother. If you'll excuse me, my fiancé might be looking for me."
Lisa smirked as she followed Jisoo's retreating figure. As she completely disappeared from sight, Jungkook revealed himself from the dark.
"Got what you wanted?" she asked.
Jungkook clenched his fists before turning his back against her.
"Our deal, Kookie," she reminded the guy. "Who sent those photos out?"
"Your grandmother."
And that was when Lisa realized her grandmother just don't know when to give up.
"Where's your sister? I can't seem to find her," Jennie said as she clung on to Taehyung's arm. The Park's and Kim's don't exactly see eye to eye but no one can stop the black sheep of the family. He's the rule breaker since the day he said 'banana' instead of 'mama' as his first word.
"Probably making out with that Jeon guy," he said shrugging. "Oddly enough, I feel like there a connection between them or something. And that Jeon guy looks oddly familiar."
"Maybe because her sister's Jisoo?"
"They're not related, baby girl," he explained. "They were both adopted or something. I don't care that much with details."
"Well, he does look shady," she said shrugging. "But he's hella damn cute. Lisa really does have impeccable taste in men."
Taehyung raised an eyebrow at her.
"What?" she asked. "You can't deny the fact that Yoongi is one handsome man. And this Jungkook guy is hot as f**k. You even agreed to tap him too."
"Why do I sense jealousy in your tone, Miss Park?"
"Sorry to burst your bubble, baby, but I'm not," she smiled cheekily. "Maybe it's the other way around. You're jealous, aren't you?"
"Why would I be?" he immediately defended. "In case you forgot, Jen. I'm gay."
"Really?"
"Really."
Jennie smiled. Her signature gummy smile that made her look like a squishy dumpling.
"Tae, I was actually meaning to tell you something," she said making Taehyung look at her. "Well, the thing is, I've been kinda seeing this guy for a week now—"
Then she was cut off by the event's host.
"May I have you attention, everyone," the host said in a very formal tone. "Before we formally start the charity auction, may we ask for Chairman Kim to give us a short message."
The guests gave the chairwoman a round of applause as she walled up the podium.
"I always give the same speech every year so I'd rather not give one this year. However, I would like to share to everyone a momentous occasion as one of my grandchildren will soon tie the knot..."
All eyes went towards the newly engaged couple, Seokjin and Jisoo with some congratulatory words from some of the guests.
"My granddaughter, Lalisa to SS Group's CEO, Oh Sehun."
What the actual f**k.
