Chapter 16 “Sunny?” As soon as Ivy heard her younger daughter’s voice, she instinctively stepped away from Bennett. In the next instant, torn between them, she felt like she was betraying him. “I’ll take that,” Bennett said, reaching for her wine. “Go.” “I’ll probably need it later.” Ivy appreciated the understanding in his warm expression. “Be right down, honey,” she called out. As the driver unloaded a stack of Sunny’s designer suitcases—a birthday gift from her father one year—Ivy clattered down the stairs. She was elated to see her daughter, even if she hadn’t expected her. “Darling! I thought you were landing in Boston.” Sunny whirled around. “Can you believe it took three hours to go through customs? And they didn’t even have a place where I could plug in my phone. Or sit down.
