Chapter 18After relieving Jeroboam of his watch duty, Montreal began to read the book his lover had set aside. But he’d not long settled when his peace was disturbed by a blood-chilling scream that was suddenly cut off. Before Montreal could roll off the bed, Aaron was already on his feet, in a defensive stance, his body between the bed and the door. “Stay back,” he whispered.
