Jimin's POV: My heart was beating insanely fast. Right after I got in the car, I felt my stomach knot and my legs tremble with nervousness. I didn't know what I was most afraid of; not finding my mother's killer or finding him sooner than expected. In both cases, my mind won't be quiet. The scars on the hunter's body aroused my suspicions the day before, for that I couldn't wait a second more to calm my doubts. "We arrived, sir." the driver interrupted my thoughts. I looked at the window and was surprised to see how big the mansion looked. Even bigger than Yoongi's. I heard that the Five Brothers occupy the higher positions in the Council of Packs, no wonder they get paid handsomely. I got off the car and walked to the house. The darkness of its walls reflected the five men's souls; elegant and mysterious. I remembered the first time I saw them, a few weeks ago when Lucas invited them over. The nasty look on their eyes never left my mind. I couldn't believe how people could be heartless to deprive someone from his love, in order to respect some dumb traditions. What confused me the most is when they proposed to help me find my mother's murderer. Does it mean that they're not the culprits? Does it mean that I am wrong? I stood before the door, simply staring at the black wood, not having the courage to knock. I didn't know what to tell them, they will obviously think it's strange for me to visit their house. What should I say? It would be stupid of me to be direct and accuse them of murder, I'm not even sure if it was one of them. Plus, who knows what can happen if it's the case, they might hurt me too. I took a long breath, praying that everything will be fine and finally knocked. I heard footsteps approaching, I pressed my lips together and clenched my fists. I have never been this nervous before, I'm usually chill and take everything easily but this time it concerned my mother, it concerned something I have been working on during almost two years, something I wanted to get rid off once and for all. The door opened and a tall blond appeared in front of me, the last person I wanted to meet. "What are you doing here?" Lucas asked me with a cold tone. He looked tired, he was pale and had dark circles under his eyes. He also avoided my eyes, I could sense he was embarrassed to see me after what happened yesterday. His coward ass doesn't even deserve to be an Alpha. "I want to see the Five Brothers." I tried to sound more confident, I didn't want him to feel my fear, the last thing I would want right now is to make anyone suspicious of my real intentions. "Why?" he raised an eyebrow. "I don't have time to answer any of your questions Lucas, tell your friends that I want to talk." He frowned and went to call them. I was still at the door, I could see how the main hall was big and dark. Dark gray tiles covered the entire floor and long black sofas occupied the living room. "What a pleasant surprise!" Donghae's voice made me jump. "Come in my dear, come." I politely bowed and entered the house, there was a strong smell of Jasmin inside, their house was maybe dull but at least they had an appreciation of such beautiful flowers. "Do sit down, please." Heechul joined. They left their rooms one by one until they were all sitting on the sofa in front of me. "Well, what an honor for us to receive you here." Leeteuk faked a smile. "What brings you to our mansion Mr. Park?" "Have you changed your mind about Yoongi?" Donghae smirked. "He's not a good mate huh?" I was getting angry at their dumb questions, but I did my best to mask my anger and try to relax myself. "I didn't come here because of my mate. Our relationship is going very well, thank you for worrying." I sounded very calm. I faked a smile as they were doing and saw that they were waiting for me to tell them the reason of my sudden visit. "I actually wanted to ask you a question." I said. They raised an eyebrow. "What is it?" Heechul asked. I pressed my lips, "A few weeks ago, you proposed to me that you help me find my mother's murderer." I would be lying if I said that I didn't see them all flinch at the same time, like they weren't expecting me to came up with this subject. "Yes, it was this or you mate Yoongi." Donghae nodded. I could sense their nervousness, they shared quick stares and I couldn't avoid seeing them playing with their hands. "Does it mean that you knew who the murderer was?" I asked them this on purpose to see their obvious reactions. What I could understand is that they really knew how it was, but is it one of them or someone else? "Of course, we don't." Leeteuk answered. "But we could have naturally helped you look for him if you accepted our proposal." "I see." I simply nodded. "But... did you came here to ask us to help you?" Donghae asked me. "My dear, you should know that it can't be possible. You made the decision to stay with Yoongi so, the offer isn't available anymore." he smirked, relaxing his back on the leather couch. "I know." I smiled. "Of course I made my own choice." I stood up and started walking around the living room. Not because I felt relaxed, in the contrary, I was nervous and I didn't know what to tell them. "What a splendid house you have!" I lied. I regretted coming here without preparing what I was going to tell them, my eagerness to find my mother's murderer made me forget to think before doing any bullshit. "Thank you, we designed it together." Heechul said proudly, running his fingers in his long black hair. "I could tell." I mumbled, watching how their dark outfits matched perfectly the dull atmosphere of their house. "It's very big." I kept on walking, seeing their portraits hung on the walls and the few decorations they had around, until my eyes stopped on something shiny. I carefully approached it, it looked like a silver necklace, a very familiar one, I was sure I saw a similar bef-oh. I froze. It wasn't a similar one, it was the necklace, the one I bought for my mother's forty-fifth birthday before she died. It was also designed by me, which means that no one else could have bought the same. It had a rose pendant, because like me, roses were her favorite flowers. "What's wrong?" Heechul interrupted my thoughts. I realized my hands were shaking, I couldn't feel my legs and my vision blurred. I was now sure that the murderer was in this house, just next to me, breathing the same air. "I-I just think this necklace is very beautiful!" I said, nervously, trying so hard not to let the tears fall from my eyes. "Since I mated Yoongi, everything that has a rose attracts my attention, b-because of our symbol." I lied. "Oh, well." Donghae stood up and nervously rubbed the back of his neck. He took the necklace from my hand and stared at my eyes, as in to check if I realized something or not. "I-I just found it, a lady must have lost it." he mumbled. "Surely." I nodded. I couldn't look at him or any of his brothers. I knew that if I did, I would certainly not be able to control myself. I was right in front of the people I was looking for during so many days, but here I am, trying not to show them that I know the truth, from fear to be attacked by them. If I found them a year ago, I wouldn't have hesitated to let them hurt me, I would have taken revenge even if it costed my life. But it was different now. I had people that worry about me; my brother, my friends and my mate. They always protected me and stayed by my side, so I must stay safe for them. "I-I should go." I said before taking my jacket. "Oh, but the tea is still not ready." Heechul said. "I-I'm sorry, I just remembered I promised I would visit my friend at the hospital." "Your Beta friend." Leeteuk smirked. "Well then, we cannot stop you." "Thank you for receiving me." I bowed and quickly left that dammed house. I got in the car and exhaled the breath I was holding. "Are you alright, sir?" the driver asked me. "Y-yeah." I sighed. "Let's go to Moonlight Hospital, please." "Alright, sir." ~~ My hands couldn't stop trembling during the entire ride. The zigzagging scars, their obvious nervousness and the necklace. Everything was connected, I was sure one of them murdered my mother, but why? My mother rarely left our village and all her friends were Betas. Did she know the Five Brothers? Why would they murder an innocent person? A thousand questions were piercing my mind at this moment, I couldn't get an answer to any of them. The shock of the events made my brain stop functioning correctly. We arrived to Moonlight Hospital after a few moments. I told the driver he could drink a coffee inside during the moment I visit my friend. "Good afternoon, Mr. Park Hyungsik's room, please." I asked the woman at the reception. "A moment please." She looked for the list of patients on the computer, "Room 545, sir." she smiled. "It's in the fifth floor." "Thank you." I took the elevator and headed to his room. I face-palmed when I saw all the flower bouquets next to the patient's room. My visit to the Five Brother's house made me stupid for sure. I shyly knocked the door and entered. "Hey." I found him laying on the bed, watching a documentary on the small TV. Multiple devices were attached to his body, his arm and shoulder were covered with a bandage. "Jimin." he said with a weak voice. "It's so nice to see you. I was watching a boring documentary about animal reproduction." I chuckled. "So interesting." I ruffled his dark hair and sat on the chair beside his bed. "How are you doing?" "I'm alive." he smiled. "That's the most important." "Does your shoulder hurt?" "Just a little thanks to the antibiotics." he sighed and stared at me with a sad smile on his pale face. "I can't thank you enough for saving me." I shook my head and placed my hand on his. "I didn't save you, the doctors did." "You stopped the bleeding. Do you think I would have survived if I lost my blood?" "I would have never forgave myself if I let you die." I said. "I'm happy you're doing better Hyungsik." He just smiled. "Sorry for not bringing you any flowers, I was kinda... busy." He chuckled. "Offering flowers to a gardener? Don't worry I've seen enough of them lately." "You're right." I laughed. "Jimin." this time he looked more serious. "I'm sorry." he whispered. I raised an eyebrow. "For what?" "For getting on the way of your relationship with Yoongi." he pressed his lips. "I was so blinded by love that I forgot your deep feelings for each other. I hurt you and made the master angry, I'm sorry." I can never be mad at Hyungsik. I know that he's a good man, he has always been sincere with me. I don't blame him for interfering with our relationship when times were difficult. I know he just wanted to make me feel good. He knew I only wanted the best for Yoongi so, he promised he will take care of me if we ever become mates. "It's alright." I smiled. "I know you only wanted my happiness. Don't worry, I'm not mad at you." "Thanks." he smiled back and kept staring at me. "You look tired." he added. "Anything wrong?" "I just.. have so many things in mind." "Care to share?" I smiled. "I don't want to burden you with my concerns now, okay?" "Just know that if you need anything, I can help." "The only thing I need right now is for you to rest and come back to us healthy." I flicked his forehead. "Understand?" "Yup! Young master." he laughed. "Tsk." I rolled my eyes and laughed along with him.
