Chapter 6

1350 Words
“Wouldn’t it be great if they were?” Dremis said walking into the cave with a few of his guards. “You see your friends have already moved on, their real goal was to take the twins and leave you behind.” He said stopping in front of Buck. “Thank you for allowing me to find her with you.” He said half smiling. “So now you have a choice, come or be forced.” He said looking back at Anabel.            Anabel looked at Buck and then Pj, “I don’t have to go with you if I don’t want to.” She said folding her arms. “Why don’t you just leave me here to die alone?” she said looking at Dremis.            “Because we have better plans for what we want you to do,” Dremis said taking a step towards Anabel. “But if you don’t want to be a part of something great, then I guess you can just stay here and die alone as you wanted, but just know if you don’t come I’ll pick someone else and you won’t like what happens to them.” He said shaking his hand at her wanting her to come with him. “Please Anabel I trust you to make the right decision.”            Anabel didn’t want to go with Dremis, but she didn’t want to stay there either. The two men were nice, but she felt like they were up to something. “I don’t want to be with either of you.” She said looking at them. “I want to live alone, alone got it Dremis?” she said shaking her hand at him. “You don’t have to punish anyone else because I don’t want to be a demon.”            “Well see that is where we have a problem, Ms. Knight.” He said taking another step towards her. “Now I’m going to allow you to think about what you want a little bit longer, the next move I make you won’t like.” He said shaking his head, he was getting tired of playing this game, and he wanted to show her just how evil he could be.            Anabel took a deep breath, she wanted to see just how much Dremis wanted to take her again, and she wanted to challenge him but knew she wouldn’t be able to take him on. Looking around the room, she thought about running into the snow just to avoid making this decision, but she doubted herself there too.            “So Ms. Knight?” he said taking a step back. “I guess you’re not going to make this decision for yourself, so I’ll make it for you.”            Before Anabel could react, Dremis grabbed Pj and killed him in front of her, Buck didn’t know what to do, and he just sat there. Dremis let Pj’s body fall to the ground, he stepped over it. Grabbing onto Anabel’s arm. “You see that could have been a lot easier, now someone had to lose their life because of you.” He said pulling her. “Let’s go, Buck, can’t leave you out here alone, since Pj is dead.” He said walking past the demon kneeling over his dead friend. “Now Buck!” he screamed at him.            Pulling Anabel out of the cave, the world looked a little different. There was no snow; it was kind of warm outside. “What happened to the snow?” Anabel said shrugging to stay on her feet.            “Well when I had to come out here looking for you, I figured if you were dead your body would have been easier to stop without the snow.” He said pulling her along. “Now I expect you to stay in my house, otherwise things might not work out too well for you.” He said shaking his head at her.            “Fine whatever you say.” She said rolling her eyes. The next time she’d get to escape, she would try again. “Buck go inside, get with Marcus, you two have some Angels that need to be killed.” He said looking at the demon. “If you fail you better have died. You come back here without them taken care of, expect to die just like Pj.” He said closing his eyes. “Now go.”            Buck disappeared; Dremis pushed Anabel back into the house. He locked the door with his magic. “I doubt you’ll be able to get through that.” He said walking past her. “I’m still looking for the twins, and I’ll also be bringing Carlos here for your punishment, you get to see me torture him.” He said over his shoulder.            “And you expect me just to stand there and watch what you do to my friends?” she said shaking her head. “You have another thing coming to Dremis, just because you think you have the upper hand you don’t,” she said looking away from him; Dremis didn’t stop to talk about it anymore.            Walking back to the room Dremis made her stay in, she laid down on the bed. She wanted to be with the twins but knew Heaven was trying to protect them. She was fine where she was for now, but she wanted to be back where she belonged, she didn’t belong to evil. She did not hate enough people to warrant a place in Hell for her.            Closing her eyes she thought more about what she went through, and then Heaven put her in a safe house, and the first time she stepped out she was taken by Dremis. “What a life.” She said shaking her head at herself.            “You know you could learn to love it here,” Drake said appearing near the fire. “I’m glad you are okay though.” He said looking at her. “I’m sorry Dremis can be mean, but you have to understand where he’s coming from.” He said shaking his head.            “Drake please just leave.” She said without looking at him. “You don’t have to tell me he’s an asshole, I already know. I just hope you know where your place is when things start to go south for Dremis.” She said finally looking at him. “I have my ticket to Heaven, just because Dremis thinks he can turn me evil, doesn’t mean he can.”               Drake walked closer to Anabel, “you don’t have any idea what he can do.” He said sitting at the end of the bed. “He didn’t get to where he is now, playing nice.” He said shaking his head.            “I don’t care how he got to where he is.” She said getting out of the bed. “I’m going to make sure he doesn’t get what he wants.” She said turning to face him. “Either you can help me, or you can stay the hell out of my way.” She growled at him, she wanted to attack Drake but knew she needed to keep her anger in check especially since she doesn’t know what Dremis has planned.            “I don’t think I can help you,” Drake said. “I’ve been evil too long.” He said walking towards her. “I hope you can understand where I’m coming from.” He said trying to touch her but she moved away from him.
