Rose had called Cade and asked him to come by her office that evening. Brandy was gone for the day so they would be alone. Rose had locked the door and asked Cade to text her when he arrived so she could unlock it.
He was on the other side when she did, a rakish smile on his face. Her heart fluttered and for a brief moment, she wondered if she was doing the right thing. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. She was going to forge ahead because Cade might not agree to it and then she was no worse off than she was before mentioning it to him.
