Jacksons POV.
The need to return to the coffee shop was greater then I expected it to be. I tried to focus on pack problems, like new families needing homes, older wolves needed reassigning, because they couldn't preform their tasks. We also needed to plan next months schedule, but all I could think about is that smell... that small coffee shop and that girl.
The moment I stepped out of the coffee shop my wolf side pulled me to return back... to follow the scent, to find the girl it belonged to.
After Bianca left my wolf was hurt, but we had a pack to concentrate on. So I poured all of our time and energy into it. There is always things to do at a pack. I may have build two houses in a month... but physical exhaustion was the only way I could sleep. So I worked and then worked some more to the point when my body started to shut down a little bit, but good thing I'm an alpha because it only took me 24 hours of sleep with the help of some sedatives that Andrew injected me with when I refused to listen to him or to anyone in the pack... but it all worked out in the end.
So it wasn't as hard to concentrate on the packs problems when every cell in my body screamed for me to in search of me little mate.
Yesterday when I returned tot he pack we increased our patrol teams. No one in the pack wanted to deal with anyone in the Moonlight pack. We even got a lot of volunteers that offered to help with the patrolling. It was nice to see the pack so united, even if it was to protect the packs women from being taken for human trafficking.
So my main issue was Andrew... he was taking everything to calmly. I only saw him flinch when I mentioned it once, but latter he pretended that he was okay and everything was fine. I know that is totally not okay with this... so I need to understand why he was hiding his emotions from me.
After I told him what happened he ran of to his mate and I haven't heard from him since then. I tried calling him, messaging him and even emailed him, but my beta ignored me still. So now I have only one way to get him here before he does something crazy. I was never a fan of using my Alpha powers on the pack, it wasn't that it was hard on anything, but it was never pleasant for my pack members. I believed in free will and everything that went with it, so this was unusual to me.
But for Andrew I was willing to do it. I concentrated on him for a few moments and voiced my command in my mind.
I poured us both drinks while I awaited for his arrival. He should be here in a few moments so I made my way to the desk that I usually sat by when we had someone over for negotiations.
He came into the office in about two minutes and he wasn't alone, on his back sat his mate. I lifted a brow at them because it was hilarious to see them like this... especially guessing by their state of... messiness? they were playing.
"Alpha."
They both said at the same time and I couldn't stop myself from laughing.
"Sorry for the sudden summon, but someone was dogging me and my calls so I had do it."
Andrew received a swat over the head from Carly and it was even more funny when she jumped from his back took the drink I made for him and sat on the only chair in front of my desk.
So he stood there with an annoyed look on his face while both of us waited for his explanation. I was laid back most of the time, but Andrew knew his place and how important it was for him to answer the calls, especially because I had to use my powers to summon him.
He released a low sigh walked to Carly lifted her to his lap and sat down in her place. She seemed still pissed at him, but when he released a little growl she rolled her eyes and offered him her drink. It made me happy to their dynamic, being Betas mate wasn't very easy and it was good that she was strong enough not to give in to his bullshit.
"So?"
"Well..."
He started, but he never finished so Carly took over.
"He tried to lock me in a safe bunker until Moonlight pack left. He tried to make me go there and even told me that you told him to do it."
I chuckled, because Andrews cheeks went pink.
"Well I never told him to do that, but it maybe a good idea... especially because as I can see he isn't really thinking when you are out in the open..."
Carly rolled her eyes again.
"I'm not going into hiding. I will stay here and help you guys."
Andrew threw his head back and released a little annoyed sound of defeat. So I guess he has been trying to convince her to stay in the hiding and his trump card of using me just blew up in smoke.
"Well I will leave that up to you both to decide, but I need you both be reachable. If we want it all to go through with as few problems as possible we all need to take care of each other and be reachable,"
"Sorry alpha... I won't do that again..."
He lowered his eyes a bit emberast that he maid me worry.
"We have patrol teams making the rounds, but I need to return to the city. I will check where their scents will lead me and if we really have any reason to be worried. So I need you to take charge of everything."
Andrews face got serious immediately and he turned in to my beta.
"Yes, alpha. I will take care of things here."
I smiled and nodded while getting up, they did the same. Andrew helped Carly stand as thy exposed a side of their necks in respect. I walked closer to the and lifted Carly face to look me in they eyes.
"How are you doing with all of this?"
Sadness flashed behind her eyes as a forced smile took its place on her face.
"Good I think... It... it's a bit scary and some memories keep creeping in, but Andrew helps me to focus on other things..."
I was worried about her, more then the rest of the pack... but I knew that Andrew would never let anything a happen to her.
"Why don't you go help with the children while Andrew takes reports from the next patrol group. I think you can stay with them until things settle. We both know that they will keep you busy."
A smile grew in her face. We all knew how much she loved children and it will give her something to focus on.
" Thank you, Alpha. I will do that."
They both nodded, exposing a side of their necks as a sign of respect and walked out of the room.
Good as all of that is dealt with, I can go hunting...
