The walk to my mother seemed to be taking much longer than it ordinarily would have taken me, and to say the least, I was far from happy that I was making this trip. I imagined that my mother would be just as unhappy as I was when she found herself in my company, hearing what it was that I had to say to her. I wasn’t even remotely sure of how she was going to react, but it was something that was beyond my control. Regardless of how I looked at it, I was going to need to be prepared for anything and everything that she decided to throw my way, whether it be words or something physical. I couldn’t run from this, no matter how much I wanted to, no matter how tempting it was for me to do so.
