Chapter Twenty- Four-Restless Night.

1251 Words
Violet I slept great for all of two hours. I have been lying in bed for the last hour, staring at the ceiling. I woke and couldn’t fall back over. I don’t know why. I am a little disappointed that Tyson didn’t come to sleep next to me. I was looking forward to his cuddles, but it was fine. I couldn’t expect him to know what I wanted without telling him. I could have asked Arlo. I don’t know why I didn’t. I sigh and pull my ass out of bed. I wonder if one of the guys would mind if I crawled in next to them. I step into the hallway and try to decide where to go. I find myself turning in the direction of Arlo’s room. I pause when I arrive outside. I consider knocking, but I don’t want to wake him if he is asleep. I carefully open the door and tiptoe into his room. What am I doing? I can’t just invite myself into someone’s bed. I sigh and turn to walk out. “Violet, it is okay, beautiful. You can come in and sleep next to me.” He chuckles. Has he been awake the entire time I have been in his room? How did he know it was me? The room is dark. “Sorry, did I wake you?” I whisper. “No, I was awake when you came in.” “How did you know it was me?” I ask. Arlo chuckles, “Well, Tyson wouldn’t be sneaking into my bedroom at three in the morning. I am not his type.” I giggle, “True. Are you sure it is okay? I have been awake for an hour and can’t seem to fall back asleep.” “Yes. You are always welcome in my bed, sweetness.” I head over and slip in next to him. I feel him shift, and he switches the bedside lamp on before rolling over to face me. “Why can’t you sleep?” “I don’t know. I am tired, but my body seems to be fighting me.” I sigh. “If you wanted some company, you could have asked me to stay with you when I put you into bed.” He says softly and strokes the hair away from my face. “I know, but you know I am not great at asking for things.” I blush. “I do know that. You should really learn how to.” He smiles. I nod, “I will get there.” I have been doing a lot of things recently that I wouldn’t usually do, so maybe asking for what I want more will be the next thing on the list. He prods my nose, “Yes, you will.” I snicker and wriggle my nose. Arlo smiles brightly at me. He places his hand on my hip and brings me closer to him, my front against his. A soft whimper escapes from my lips. I haven’t been with any of them since my night with Parker and Arlo. Arlo reaches in and presses a soft kiss to my lips. It only lasts a second before he pulls away, “We should try to get some sleep. I know you have work in the morning.” “Yeah, I do.” I sigh. Arlo switches the light off. I turn my back to him, and he soon lies behind me and slips his arm over me, pulling me back against him. My body fits perfectly into the curves of his. “Feel better?” he asks, kissing over my shoulders. “Yes. Cuddles always make me feel better.” I reply. He takes my hand in his, linking our fingers. I smile and let him. “Now, sleep. You need to be up in a few hours.” He says firmly. I roll my eyes, “Yes, boss.” The sarcasm drips from my voice. “Don’t roll your eyes at me, Miss Violet. Someone needs to take care of you.” I hate sometimes he seems to know me so well, even if it has been a short time since we met. “I didn’t,” I whine. Arlo laughs loudly from behind, “Yes, you did.” “Yeah, yeah, whatever. Now, shh, I am trying to sleep.” I tease. “Smartass.” I snicker and don’t respond after that. I close my eyes, hoping for sleep to take over me. “Violet, have you heard from your ex recently?” Arlo’s question takes me by surprise. It seems to be a random time to ask such a random question. “He texted me yesterday, but I ignored him. Why do you ask?” There must be a reason for it. “No reason, I am just wondering. If he does, let me know, okay?” he says softly. I turn back to face him, “There must have been a reason for asking, Arlo. You never ask me it.” “If he came to you, told you he made a huge mistake, still loved you and broke up with the other one, would you go back to him?” “What? No, of course not. Why would I go back to someone who lied and cheated? What is going on, Arlo?” Why would he ask me such a damn question? Nothing would make me go back to him. Arlo sighs loudly, “When I arrived home from work, he was outside.” “What? Why didn’t you tell me? What did you want?” I ask, annoyed. I am not annoyed at Arlo but at Kevin for showing up. “I didn’t want to upset you. He wanted to see you, tell you sorry and he made a huge mistake. He says you still love him. I warned him to stay away from you.” He replies. “He has no right to come by. Thank you for not letting him in to see me.” I say and kiss him softly. “You are welcome. I have your back, beautiful. We all do. I hope I scared him off, but I can’t be sure.” “Thank you. I appreciate that. I have no idea if he will give up. With any luck he does, but I will tell you if he tries to contact.” “Okay. Now, I have that off my chest, we really should sleep.” I nod, peck his lips and turn away, getting back into my sleeping position. Arlo hugged me close again. I find it sweet that he had my back and scared Kevin off. What gave him the right to come around here? I guess his new girlfriend isn’t what he thought. It doesn’t matter either way because we are done. I would not give him a second chance, even if he were the last man on earth. I am happy being single and getting my needs fulfilled by three handsome men when I need it. Why would I go back to someone who lied and cheated, someone boring? No, I am content on how my things are now. It is better, all is good, and it is helping me get over Kevin and my heartbreak. I close my eyes and allow sleep to take over. I don’t want to be tired going into work tomorrow. Arlo falls asleep quickly. Lucky him. I will hopefully follow soon.
