“Um,” Rob said, “I heard a dragon had moved in?” That hadn’t been at all what he’d meant to say, or at least not how he’d meant to say it. He did not, unfortunately, know any spells for removing his entire foot from his mouth.
The absolutely gorgeous person on the other side of the door kept on staring at him. Rob cringed internally, wondered whether fleeing down the house’s front steps was a viable option, and tried again. “Not that I mind! I don’t mind dragons! I mean all the stories are just stories—but I’m not, like, checking to see whether anyone’s a dragon, I’d’ve come by to say hi anyway—but you’re not a, a, are you, never mind, wrong house—”
The person definitely looked human. No scales or fiery breath or hypnotic powers in evidence. Just soft-looking dar
