Dad finally let go of Ace's hand and pulled me close to his side again, peering down at me with curiosity. "Honey, why didn't you mention that you were seeing someone?" he asked, giving me a gentle shake while grinning like a maniac.
I was at a loss for words, just mumbling in response.
"This is wonderful! We'll have to invite you over for dinner," Lily chimed in, her face glowing with happiness as she smiled warmly at Ace.
