As I strolled towards the stairs, I couldn't help but let my mind race, taking in all these thoughts and more. I didn't look directly at him when I spotted him in the kitchen; instead, I focused on absorbing the grandeur of the cavernous space surrounding me. The central area had a cozy seating arrangement, featuring a large, inviting couch flanked by two recliners, all set on a plush rug. A big flatscreen TV hung on the wall, and on the opposite side, there was an impressive array of workout equipment: a weight bench, various bars of weights, a treadmill, stationary bike, rowing machine, and elliptical machine.
