I ripped the cell door off with every ounce of my strength. I rushed to Ruby’s side, cradling her unconscious body. I could barely recognize her, with all the swelling and bruises on her face. Heather came around the corner with Elliot in tow. She bent down trying to help but I only growled in response.
“Karson, I know what you’re feeling right now but you need to let me help you, OK?” Heather said, as she motioned to Elliot with the keys to Ruby’s chains.
